Last Saturday night, I had nothing to do
So I decided to watch some YouTube
I was looking to find the fountain of youth
Or a scientific breakthrough

But forget what I saw on the videos
The most inticing thing I found
Was written in the comments section below
Where wisdom does abound

You can see the dazzling intellect
In this massive game of words
Even Socrates and Plato
Would be fighting to be  heard

I read that I would burn in hell 
If I don't vote the way that he does
It's a nasty brawl, a free for all

I thought I'd take a look at Facebook

My dad passed away almost 12 years ago.  I don't really remember what were many of the gifts he gave me during his lifetime (although he gave me many gifts).  But I can never forget the love that he showed me through every situation we faced.  So I wrote this song to honor him and his legacy for Father's Day this year...

The Other Side Of Nowhere

When I was a little boy, my dad taught me how to play the guitar.  Then he spent the rest of his life tolerating listening to my music!  After I grew up and moved out, our common love for music was one of the bonds that kept us close. This song is a tribute to my dad, and people like him who share their love for music with their children. My dad passed away 3 years ago, but somehow I think he would have really enjoyed this song.

I write a song for my beautiful wife for our anniversary every year. The past few years, I have fought (and won) some physical battles, so I have been writing a song for me around my birthday - sort of a way of reminding the devil that I'm still around, and not going anywhere! In October, I turned 65, Rachel (my wife) started getting very sick a few weeks before my birthday this year. We have been back and forth to MD Anderson for treatments ever since. So I wrote this one in my head back in October, but was only able to get it out of my head and into my speakers within the past couple weeks. 

In my distant past, I have a classical background (violinist), so I decided to return to my roots for this one. Since I turned 65, I decided to name this one Opus 65. This year, this one is for both Rachel and me. I hope you enjoy it!
