This is a track made for the NGMT contest on Newgrounds, where the theme of the round was:
"Biodome - On a new planet or future earth where the surrounding environment is hostile, a biodome is a place where normal life can still exist."

Automation

Hey all! This is an arrangement of the Phendrana Drifts theme from Metroid Prime, done as part of the Harmony of a Hunter: Returns album that released very recently!

This particular Metroid track has so many covers and arrangements out there that it really is difficult to make something that stands out. Because of this, before I even started composing anything I decided to think of how to approach it as differently and "out there" as I could. I settled on adapting the melody to 3/4 (which works surprisingly well!) and going for a folk/orchestral genre for what was originally an electronic track with icy piano notes and alien-like droning ambience.

Everything was made with East/West & Omnisphere VSTs and FL Studio.

I had a fun time with this one and I hope you enjoy it!

Hey all! This is a fun project I've been wanting to do for some time now - an arrangement of Toss A Coin To Your Witcher from the Witcher Netflix series. I finished watching the series myself a few months ago where I was first exposed to the song and I very quickly wanted to give it a shot myself.

Huge shoutout goes to Alwiren for the amazing singing. She went above and beyond and recorded multiple takes, harmonies, and re-records and it was a ton of fun working with her. You'll also hear acoustic guitar strumming from Zack Parrish in the final chorus. Thanks a million to him for his great work here too! And finally, thank you to my brother for playing the cajón drum!

Priscilla's Tale

Hey all! Here we have the latest project to consume my life for the past few weeks! It's an arrangement of Ed Sheeran's "Celestial" track released for the newly-released Pokémon Scarlet/Violet game. Credit here goes to Darren Kerwin for not only kickstarting the project with me but also for his vocal performance in this track!

With this song we wanted to challenge ourselves to make a version of it that does sound like it would belong in a Pokémon game, going for a chiptune-esque approach, which strays quite far from the original pop track.

Not only will you hear a completely re-imagined version of Celestial, but you'll also hear a couple of nods to other melodies in Pokémon as well! Namely, we have a Pallet Town section from Red/Blue, a Game Corner section from Gold/Silver, and a sneaky title theme melody playing in the bridge.

For this project we used FL Studio, Audacity, Vengeance, East/West libraries, Omnisphere, Bleep, BiT BoX, Magical 8-bit, 3xOsc, and some standard Kontakt libraries.

Celestial

This is a track Erik Scerri and I made for the HUGE Harmony of Heroes project, a fan-arrangement album filled with 101 arrangements of Smash Bros tracks! Check it out here.

This here is primarily an arrangement of the Encounter theme in Metal Gear Solid. You'll also hear the Caution Mode theme from MGS3 in the intro and even the MGS2 theme later! The voice was by a good friend of mine, Benjamin Gatt, and the guitar at the start is from the talented Pontus Lundén. Fun fact; the alert sound in here, despite sounding like the effect used in the games, is entirely original! It took quite a bit of research and playing around to get right, but I managed to emulate it through the use of brass.

Anyway, this was an adventure of a track to make. Echo and I went on a HUGE music-making marathon to finish this. We used FL Studio to make it, with various plugins, including East/West Symphonic Orchestra Silver, Hollywood Brass, Hollywood Strings, Stormdrum 2 and Pianos Gold. We also used Omnisphere, Vengeance samples, Cinebrass and VOXOS.

We wanted to make a track that not only appeals to Super Smash Bros fans but to Metal Gear fans. Being a passionate Metal Gear fan myself, I couldn't help but add little nods to the series like the voice lines being actual script from Metal Gear Portable Ops, and of course the alert sound which we took a while to perfect. Above all, we wanted to emulate what it feels like to get discovered by the enemy in-game. The tension right before getting found, the way the excitement is heightened after the enemy calls for backup, etc. Our aim was not just to arrange Encounter, but to make it FEEL like an encounter. It's a huge track, clocking in at exactly 7 minutes (or rather 420blazeit seconds) and we hope you enjoy it!

Here we have an orchestral Song of Storms arrangement featuring Christopher Woo with his excellent viola performance! There's also Serenade of Water and Saria's Theme featuring slightly in the track as cameos.

For this I used East/West Symphonic Orchestra Silver, Hollywood Brass, Hollywood Strings, Stormdrum 2, Ra and Pianos Gold - basically my whole East/West collection. I also used royalty free sound effects and textures from Omnisphere.

I wanted to emulate a storm over here (if it wasn't obvious). However, rather than just go the obvious route of simply adding sound effects, I felt like the instruments should also reflect the storm. You'll hear wind whistling with the music at the start, a piano rising and falling in chromatic scales to emulate wind, timpani playing alongside thunder, and overall a dynamic listening experience that represents both the calmness and calamity of a storm. I really hope you enjoy it!

For a total change in direction, have some jazz/swing! This is an arrangement of the Donkey Kong Congo Jungle theme, with cameos of the Tiki Tak Tribe theme from Donkey Kong Country Returns and the Overworld theme from the franchise too. This would not have been made possible without the REAL INSTRUMENTS and amazing jazz improvs by these extremely talented people:

Right, so first off, the very talented singers you're hearing are Stina Nyman (main vocals) and Jennifer Petersson (backing vocals). I can't thank them enough for their incredible vocal work. I had an absolute disaster of a time mixing this track, though! I suck working with vocals.
This uses East/West Symphonic Orchestra Silver, Stormdrum 2, Hollywood Strings Gold, Hollywood Brass Gold, Pianos Gold, Omnisphere, Embertone Jubal Flute, EZdrummer and Virtual Guitarist. Most of the arrangement was figured out by ear, with some references to an online MIDI file. Let it be stressed that the original track, Snake Eater, is among my favourite video game music music ever. It's an incredible piece of music and I was under quite a bit of stress to make sure I do it justice. I wasn't sure how exactly to approach it, but decided to take a serious, super dynamic/climactic approach, similar to the original, and with heavy James Bond influences (since Metal Gear has lots of nods towards James Bond throughout the series). Thanks goes to Laura Intravia for the wonderful flute performances done under very short notice. In fact, this whole track was done under short notice. In the space of just over two days, I spent over thirty hours on this track. So yep, basically non-stop work to get this done. I was disappointed that the aforementioned expansion album didn't have any Mario Galaxy music, and always wanted to arrange some of its music, so I decided to take on the crazy task of finishing this track in a couple of days. Didn't get much sleep, but it was WORTH IT.
I tried experimenting a little for this. It's basically an orchestral/chiptune mashup, with mostly orchestral supported by chiptune accompaniment/drums. Look forward to an entirely chiptune section later on though... it's my first time doing chiptune so I hope it's alright. This uses East/West Symphonic Orchestra Silver, Hollywood Brass Gold, Hollywood Strings Gold, Stormdrum 2, Omnisphere, Versilian Studios Marimba, mda ePiano, BiT BOX, Bleep, Magical 8-Bit, Sytrus, 3xOsc, and Vengeance. Also, those aren't the original Mario sound effects you're hearing in the background at some points. They're my own; hope I got them to sound like the real thing!

I mostly wrote this as a tribute to Super Adventure Box, a very fun game mode released around April every year in Guild Wars 2.

We've never made something like this before so it was quite a challenge! We listened to a ton of sea shanties before starting this for inspiration.

The instrumentation is also fun on this one. You'll hear a mallet, accordion, concertina, banjo, bass guitars, a Chinese flute, a gong, and standard orchestral instruments. I know it's not the most authentic set of instruments for a sea shanty, but it sounds good so dealwithit.jpg.

Hey hey!

This is an arrangement of the song "Fear Not This Night" that comes from the game Guild Wars 2. The original was composed by Jeremy Soule and Ree Soesbee with vocals from Asja Kadrić, and this arrangement was written by me and my friend Erik Scerri with vocals from a very talented singer we know who wishes to remain anonymous!

This project was a long time coming. We've been wanting to get an arrangement out for this song for literal years, but it kept getting pushed back by other things. Eventually, we finally decided to sit down and finish it. Forty hours later, and here we are!

This song uses East/West libraries for most of the instruments, with Omnisphere for the more electronic influences. It also uses three pianos, making this one of my most piano-heavy pieces ever.

Hope you guys enjoy! This took a lot of work and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Guardians of Old

This here is a track that was originally made for an ice-themed tower defence game aimed at kids around 8+ (it's a university project which a friend of mine is a part of). It's now a lot more well-known as a theme for the third level in Geometry Dash!

Note: if this version sounds slower to you, then don't worry, it's not just you! This is the original version, not the Geometry Dash edit. It's got an extra section, loops, and is a bit slower. Still essentially the same song though :).

I had a real blast making this, and it's in a genre I've never made before. As much as I love orchestral, you can't really achieve such a high energy in an orchestral track as easily, and I've realised that making energetic tracks is pretty enjoyable!

Polargeist

Hey hey. Been a while since I uploaded anything here.

This is a song I've been working on for the past months. My idea was to have it tell a story about someone who uses fantastical dreams to escape his boring and depressing reality. The song is very dynamic; it starts off a bit rocky, and it morphs into a very adventurous and uplifting piece, before ending on a somewhat sad note.

I used East/West libraries for the majority of instruments you're hearing here, with some help from Omnisphere for some ambience and mallet sounds.

Lucid

This is the menu theme I made for the game (called Polargeist) that I made my other track for. The game's a tower-defence ice-themed game aimed at kids from 8 years of age and up.
