In this show, Stereo Society features JAMES MONRO and his latest 3-track EP "Rogue Planet" out on the label. Before the mix also featuring the tracks of the EP, we will be talking to James about this release and news for the newest year. James Monro's immersion within the music industry goes back some 30 years. Having been classically trained at school, James' musical influences diverged into a long and keen love affair with all things electronic. All the while collecting the music as he went, finding and creating his sound, and starting up the now legendary Flying Rhino Records with 2 friends in 1995. With the dawn of the new millennium, the demise of Flying Rhino Records, and the development of his new label 4DigitalAudio (with his label partner Grant Collins) he took time out to settle into his own rhythm again. He started to produce both alone, as James Monro and as 4D with Grant, and 2012 saw his Midnight Ramblers pseudonym (with George Barker, one his partners from Flying Rhino) gain traction with an appearance on John Digweed's Bedrock release “Structures Two". James is always pushing the boundaries of what constitutes house or techno, and his passion for his craft has never faltered - his global schedule is testament to that. He's been touring the globe for nearly 30 years now, and still can't get enough!

Martian Arts is a BSc certified audio tech engineer and sound designer aficionado, that loves making psychedelic music using modular synths.  Has been releasing music under various projects, on various labels, including, TIP Records, Goa Productions, Zero1, Nano Records, Neurobiotic Records, Phantasm Records, Blue Hour Sounds. Inspired by yesterday's riffs, pushing forward in new styles.

My DJ set from the mighty Ozora Festival, 2024 main stage. I played on Day 4 between 8:30 and 10:00am, it was Thursday. Morning vibes, the sun was shining up and already starting to hit pretty hard, that time of the day when the rhythms on the dance floor are changing from night time psychedelia towards more melodic and atmospheric grooves. This mix reflects that transition, now it feels hard but then it's deep, it feels intense but also smooth, goes from dark to light and then again darker, the bassline changes all the time and it's very playful, the elements are a fusion of electronic and organic, it's the kind of psytrance that would be difficult to put in a box. As usually i tried to give something different to the audience and even be a bit provocative. It's a journey, like a musical trip that begins at 147 BPM and finishes 142. Latam mix at Ozora Festival 2024 [147-142 BPM]

What an unforgettable night –  it was fun and wild! The venue had such a raw, authentic vibe – no dress code, just a place where everyone felt at home. The energy was perfect.
