He’s known for his immense work ethic both as an artist and as label owner for @futureretrolondon and has regular shows on @nts_radio and Jungletrain.

I’ve been wanting to speak to him for some time for many reasons but mainly because he makes incredibly authentic Jungle but comes from a time after the Pirate Radio era. We speak about his understanding of Pirate Radio and the impact it’s had on the music. We discuss the concept of nostalgia and the use of nostalgia when making Jungle music. We also discuss his love for the DIY ethos - it runs through everything he does, including making music on a laptop on the train with Ear Buds, to the way he runs his record label Future Retro London. it’s very grass roots and he uses it both as a platform for showcasing the best in modern Jungle but also to give younger and up and coming producers a place for early releases in their career. He’s very community minded and very DIY minded and authenticity runs through everything he does.

Genotype - Feb MIx 2024

Another EP I'm honored to release. "Visualise Your Desires" was a tune written by Bizzy and D-Lux, played by Bizzy on Format FM back in 1993. Musically, it has has similar vibes and samples to "Take a Deep Breath", but ends up much more melodic and relaxed. It turns out it was meant as part of a follow-up EP to "Take a Deep Breath" back then. We've tried to recreate that follow-up here by adding 3 more unreleased Bizzy/D-Lux collabs from the time: two distinct 93/94 remixes of "Take a Deep Breath" (one rolling, one rougher), and a stripped down extra dark non-amen tune called "Special to Me". 

Pressed on both colour and black vinyl. Out Friday, April 5th at 12 noon UK time on the 8205 Bandcamp.

The third Lucky Muffin release welcomes Icelandic don man Plasmic to the label. Rumour has it that if you venture deep enough into the mystic caves of Iceland, you may stand a chance of excavating a copy of these tracks on tape, released back in the mid 90s. But you might as well go on a hunt for a couple of huldufólk and some hens teeth whilst you're at it as they're incredibly rare. So, we're very proud to finally be able to bring these tunes out for the crew on a lovely piece of 12" vinyl :) Big ups to Plasmic for letting us press these up! These are some ridiculously good tunes!
