Tortuga was born from the numerous occasions Sparrow & Barbossa have performed in the Caribbeans. They discovered an uprising genre they like to call Caribbean House and tremendous new talents. The same way they did it with African Music and Inward Records, they mix the perfect doses of new-age Latin music, house music, and tribal grooves. 
The idea of Tortuga goes way beyond a record label. It is a family, a community, a platform aiming to give a voice to those uprising talents, help them grow under the massive and well-established umbrella of DJ Chus and Stereo Productions, and show them to the entire world with one target in mind: democratise the genre and its talents. Nowadays, the two of the hottest DJ/producer duos, the Spanish-based Sparrow & Barbossa and South American Band&Dos, team up for Tortuga Tribes' upcoming second release. Combining their dance-floor acumen, diverse musical influences, and dynamic synergy, the double duo, renders a multicultural montage of urban sound patterns, permeating Afro rhythms and unique dance conjunctions. "Grown & Sexy" is a big tune that melts the r&b vocals with bass-based melodies, fragments of joy syncopations, and Caribbean rhythmics in a harmonic juncture of multicultural sounds.

TT002 Sparrow & Barbossa, Band&dos - Grown & Sexy

Venezuela’s very own Angel Doza and Monserratt team up for Tortuga Tribes’ third release. Merging rhythmic drums and beautiful melodies, “D'Agüero” takes you on a trip to South America. This release leaves you spoilt for choice with not one, not two, but three versions of the track which are suited to any vibe. The Original Mix focuses solely on the groove, the Vocal Mix sprinkles the vocals of Virgilio, and the Ancestral Mix adds the harder hitting drive.

Recorded in Miami's The Hub at Brickell studio, Sparrow & Barbossa teamed up with their good friend Lost Forever and audio engineer Slomar for Que Rico Lo Haces Tu.

The Tortuga captains have been amongst the Latin house movement for quite some time but are now experimenting with the combination of reggaeton and other new era Latin genres in electronic music. This neo-Latin sound is the direction they will be heading towards as they set sail with TT004.

Continuing to amaze their followers with an innovative production style, Band&Dos are back on Tortuga Tribes with 'Love'. This high-energy track merges a rolling baseline, groovy drums, and catchy marimba, sprinkled with a vocal you might recognize. A perfect Summertime anthem that will lift the dance floor.

Sebastian Rivero, a talented Venezuelan producer who has been making some noise in the scene with his productions. After featuring on Tortuga's This Is Caribbean House VOL 1, he returns with a solo 3 track Ep entitled 'Carry Me Home' showcasing deep grooves and a captivating vocal to complete TT006.

For Amal Nemer, music is the greatest treasure to which humanity has access to. In the DJ Booth she leans towards genres such as House, Tech House, Melodic House and Techno. Combined with her energetic and charismatic personality she has a spontaneous way of connecting with the people and the capability of making anyone dance. 'Desired' is Amal's debut release with Tortuga Tribes, inspired during some rough and happy times, but ultimately made with love and passion for music. This 5 track EP showcases tech-house grooves and seductive vocals, including a collaboration with Andres Hernandez and a remix from Captains Sparrow & Barbossa.

Dexxx Gum is an electronic music project with a strong House Music influence. He has released songs on several labels, including: Bunny Tiger, Union Records (IT), Wired, Go Deeva, Switchlab, Sunclock, Black Mambo, and many others. For Tortuga Tribes, he shares with us his Dharma EP. Two tracks with driving afro drums and catchy vocals. Dharma is the key to enlightenment and a fulfilling life, associated with the ability to be of service to others. Accepting and working your dharma is a way of serving others, which also leads to connection with the universe.
