''Sur la liste des clubs qui ont marqué et façonnés la vie de nuit montréalaise on y retrouve le « Limelight », « le Business », « KOX » et incontestablement le « Playground After-hour ».
Si le début des Années 90 montréalaise ont été marquées par l'essor du mouvement rave et par l'arrivé de l'ecstasy, le milieu des années 90 a été marqué par la naissance de le scène after-hours montréalaise. C'est en décembre 1994 que Patrick Legendre et Nicolas Zlicaric ont ouvert le premier after-hours montréalais donnant du même coup naissance à la scène after-hours qui a dominé la vie nocturne montréalaise jusqu'à tout récemment.
Situé au cœur du village gay, la magie du Playground résidait dans sa clientèle mixte et hétéroclite qui pendant plus de deux ans, chaque week-end venait y danser sous la musique "house" du Dj Mark Anthony. C'est au Playground que plus d'une centaine DJs internationaux, tel que Danny Tenaglia, Peter Rauhofer, Angel Moraes, Frankie Knuckles ont pu se produire sur le sol montréalais pour la première fois. L'énergie de ces soirées était telle que Montréal a acquis la réputation internationale d'être l'une des meilleures villes festives en Amérique du Nord.''
