Welcome to the 20th label release for @PuzzleProjectsMusic brought to us by Italian 🇮🇹 producer Ranka & British 🇬🇧 producer Ben Spalding.

After the triumphant ‘The Ego Death’ EP with @RonaldChristoph, label boss @BenSpaldingOfficial returns to @PuzzleProjectsMusic with another dynamite dancefloor collaboration, this time teaming up in an electric partnership with promising Italian artist Ranka.

Their first offering is the original deep slice of acid mind-melt titled '9AM Madness.'

The deceptively simple track is an immediate winner, combining a perfect reverb-heavy beat, a neatly filtered tribal conga line, and delay-laden disco claps, '9AM Madness' properly announces itself after 90 seconds with an acid flex and sizzling hi-hats. And it's some entrance, thanks to that bassbin-wobbling, almost narcotic bassline. 

From there the intensity slowly builds through spoken word snippets and cleverly panned percussion creating a wonderfully hypnotic deep groove. The artful suspense finally gives way to a truly hedonistic breakdown: all sunrise melodies, dropped beats, and that slamming acid break creating a euphoric hands-in-the-air crescendo. 

Straddling the genre gap between tech-house, deep house, and acid, the aptly named '9AM Madness' is perfect sunrise material for the wide-awake and wonky club. But thanks to its restrained structure, it's equally adaptable as a set opener or a mid-set thumper. 

With support from some of the major heavyweights in the scene, 9AM Madness will without question, be a main fix in track libraries of the tech & deep house scene.

Stay focused for the next release which sees a return for Dan Ros with a solo single showcasing his unique deep tech house style.

Since the 90s, the charismatic Swiss DJ & Producer Steve Cole has been honing his performance & production talent to become a serious force in the underground techno & minimal scene, performing his trademark electric minimal & techno-charged live shows at some of the finest underground clubs & festivals across Europe including Sonar in Barcelona, Sea You Festival and Grenzenlos Festival in Germany, Nordstern & Hive Club in Switzerland, and countless more shows across Berlin, UK, Italy, Paris, Dominion Republic & Holland.

On the production side, Steve has released his music and co-productions on vinyl and digital format with some of the finest international artists including @RonaldChristoph, @Andreas-Henneberg, @David-Keno, @DJHellOfficial, @GabrielLeMar, & more on world-class record labels including his imprint @Schallbox-Records, @PuzzleProjectsMusic @Neopren-Records, @MyFavouriteFreaks, Keno Records, Natural Rhythm, @Dekadent-Schallplatten.

PuzzleProjectsMusic continues its prolific run with this potent double trouble package featuring label head Ben Spalding and Italian dynamo Flavio MP. The PuzzleProjectsMusic & @HOT-GROOVERS label boss has been on fire through 2021 with a consistent series of @Beatport top 100 releases in their respective genres, alongside overseeing the rapid growth of the two labels and the talented collective of artists which has led to critical acclaim from publications such as DJ Mag and support from major artists across the genres of Disco, House & Techno worldwide.

Flavio MP – now heavily involved with both labels is a seasoned artist, who has travelled the globe to play at iconic events such as Love Parade, featuring alongside some of the world’s best known underground acts. Together they have produced a double-header that features two unusual, yet exquisitely produced dance floor weapons. 

The release kicks off with 'Funkster', a hard-hitting tech-house stomper with hefty beats and an equally meaty bassline. An extended intro builds the tension sky high before descending into a dense, powerful cut. Fans of hugely popular US series Breaking Bad will recognise the samples, which are amplified by the murky rolling atmosphere. Razor-sharp percussion slices through the thick low end, warped laughter and vocals join drum rolls to pump the track full of energy. Ben and Flavio utilising key design elements to keep the energy and tension ebbing and flowing throughout, to great effect. 

On the flipside we have 'Stop Talking', which uses sampled dialogue from another iconic character - Tony Montana from Scarface. The morose atmosphere complements the infamous lines uttered by Al Pacino, nasty b-line throbs and the snares and hi-hats percolate in the top end. Again, Ben and Flavio take an unorthodox approach with this track, avoiding predictable linear programming to enliven the cut with fresh energy. Get ready for the switch up midway through, as the rhythm shifts and morphs into new territory. 

With two cuts that ooze originality and playfulness, both telling a story from start to end, Ben Spalding and Flavio MP have crafted an EP that is sure to inject fresh energy into the dance floor. Refusing to play by the rules, they have carved out their distinct niche and as we speak, they work on more material.

Pascal Feos Tribute Set

I recorded this set on a tribute to Pascal FEOS Party, been playing my selection of Pascal's own productions, and once more I'm astonished how fresh and timeless his music still sounds. His top notch state of the art skills in production and experienced DJing are reflected in his taste and creative choices one can hear in his always soulful TechnoHouse music, balancing the influences of Chicago House and Detroit Techno into his very own signature of sound. 

Eternally thankful to Pascal for his caring Greek hospitality and having shared his know-how, I learned a lot from him in countless studio sessions, and also no words for his ongoing support, for example with his excellent remixes he did, his always honest feedback on my music, mastering my early tunes and expanding my sense for studio environments.

‘ I Can Feel That’ presence and energy, 
he is ‘Still Here’ in his music, gone but not forgotten.
