“Recluse” is a stunning Lo-Fi adventure by acid master Steve Cook. After hearing Steve’s “Haze Ep”, released on Tsuba, we knew this man was something out of the ordinary. Steve’s original is like a warehouse rave theme mixed with modern electronica. Born out of an idea of taking things back to analog basics, capturing a vibe in its most natural and instant state.

First out on the remix side is no less than UK mastermind Mark E. It makes no difference whether he's remixing pop divas like Robyn or underground beats for "Kohdu Records", it’s always the same pitch perfect rhythmics combined with mellow synths and complex sound design. Mark's remix is a bottom of the Atlantic ocean deep sound-journey, a enchanting hypnotic groove that will get even the best beatcrafters weak in their knees. 

If you send a Shaman into outer space and have him write music about his experience, it will probably sound something like Ilves & Migova’s version of "Recluse". The Ibiza based multi-dimensional duo delivers a warm, moody, tropical jungle theme for people with one or two ears outside the box. Completing this very diverse and unique EP, electronic music’s own “Chateau Lafite”.

Steve Cook is a man who has so many releases it is easier to state where he has not released. Labels such as Tusk Wax, Clouded Vision, Rothmans, Meant, Throne Of Blood are but the tip of his iceberg. We are honoured to welcome him to Flight Recorder with two machine jams
Space Case is 105 beats per minute of pure Stoner Disco, flashes of acid melt between spaced out pads and cosmic rave waves. It comes with a remix from tici taci label boss Duncan Gray who steers it into funked up territory.
Wonderwheel is a hazy lazy midnight stroll through the neon streets of the past. A psychedelic slow jam of paraphonic synths that fizz & groove alongside a live bass line courtesy of Patrick Kilbey. Label boss Iron Blu remixes the track and steers it in a heavy dub direction.

A truly exceptional mix of old-school warehouse and deep electronica, with an atmosphere that will suck you in and haunt your dreams. 

Next up, we are proud to present Berlin-based artist Rodion. Describing his style as a blend of cosmic music and synthesized funk, mixed with the dramatic melodies of Italian horror films. Rodion always delivers high quality artistry and his remix of "Church" is no exception, presenting a huge and hypnotic beat with enough ear-candy to give any dancefloor-freak an instant sugar rush.  

Migova's take on "Church" is an elegant journey through dark cocktail-grooves and analogue mysteries. A twisted seaside vista, as enjoyable for the sophisticated as the savages. Completing another diverse 3-tracker from Kohdu Records - Bon voyage!

Steve Cook - Notice Me EP

After a killer remix for FLXXX's 'Zombie Land' on WS013, Steve Cook is back on Wonder Stories with his own EP. The lead track 'Notice Me' is a drugged-out mid-tempo burner with tribal drums and cut up diva vocals. Accompanying ‘Notice Me’ is a pair of remixes, one from Toronto-based producer Pop District, and another from Wonder Stories label head Aimes. Rounding out the EP is another Steve Cook original ‘Drifted’ which is eager to offer up the dark and brooding side of Steve’s productions.
