I write about many things, including things people don't like to talk about, like coming to the end of one's life with regrets.  But since that happens a lot, I thought it could use some attention.  Here it is:

It's All Been Arranged

I've worn this suit of armor all my life, 
always thought it could stand up to the toughest fight
But something's gotten through and it's eating from the inside out
Soon there'll be nothing left of me
I wonder how I ever wound up here - tubes stuck in my veins
I want to go back home, but I know I'm too afraid

It's hard to know what to say after all that time,

As every word of regret and sorrow poured right out
I wished that I could tell her what this life was all about
