I wrote this track with Rob Plowman as the Spike Lee film Malcolm X was being released in 1992.  After reading many of Malcolm's speechs, interviews and letters I wrote this social comment on how a little white guy from Canada understands, sympathizes, and respects the black struggle in the United States, and begs forgiveness, and proffers a solution even though I was not responsible for it's cause.

present is a short collection of my personal favorite beats which, collectively, explores the concepts of happiness and sadness, self-reflection, self-worth, love, and support. the word 'present' could mean a showcase, now, a gift, and simply being there. these are reflected in the EP through its two parts that show the phases of sadness and happiness. these parts are separated with a single track that encapsulates the word 'present'.

this is a story of hope, love, and redemption. i hope that you'll enjoy listening to my little story, and that it may inspire you to push forward. everything will be okay.

I have been writing and playing music for over 40 years.  I played pro for about 20 years in my 20's and 30's, then I got married and raised a family.  I just got back into it about 5 years ago playing covers and originals in Les Bons Gars.  I have since reformed The Huge Groove as Little Big Man and The Huge Groove.  During the recent Covid Lockdown I wrote and recorded 5 new songs, and recorded another 14, all available on Apple Music, Spotify, and all other music platforms. Here on SoundCloud you will find a random selection of tunes I've recorded over my career, including rehearsal recordings which I always find interesting.
