DFTD delivers a package of unmissable club heat from Red Eye and Ancient Deep’s collaborative project R.E.A.D. Toolroom have been flying so far in 2022 and judging by this next release, the label isn’t letting up any time soon. Up next is a huge return from none other than Huxley who returns after 2 years since his last visit, dropping a Piano House weapon destined for the dance floor with ‘Waiting’. The UK House legend has been a household name for some time now, having graced the pages of every premiership dance label from Gorgon City’s Realm Records to Yousef’s Circus Recordings and more recently signing to Ultra, Huxley is a man on a mission in 2022.
 
A record inspired by the Raves and Warehouse parties from the 90’s, Huxley has zoned in on the vibe from past days, modernising it for 2022 with his own unique twists. Bordering the fringes of Melodic House & Techno, ‘Waiting’ is a deep record full of emotion that hits differently. Jordin Post makes his Anjunadeep debut this February, teaming up with Qrion (Momiji Tsukada) to remix her single 'Your Love', taken from her just-released album ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever’.

Post's debut comes following several releases on Anjunabeats, and a slew of successful releases under his projects KUURO and Juventa. Post and Tsukada build on the original's bittersweet vibe by introducing a dreamy arpeggiated call-and-response lead and a washed out bridge of warm chord progressions. 

The first single off the album, ‘Your Love’ was supported by SiriusXM Chill, Jason Bentley on KCRW, Anna Lunoe, Dosem, and Jody Wisternoff, to name a few.

An album built on nostalgia and sentimentality, ‘I Hope It Lasts Forever' pays homage to Qrion’s memories of childhood and her dad, and captures the feelings she felt when moving from her hometown of Sapporo to San Francisco to pursue a career in music. Speaking on the album, Qrion exclaims “I connected with my old memories - the feelings of spending time with my Dad, the time I lived with my family in Japan, and the small but important moments of my life from my life in Sapporo.”

‘I Hope It Lasts Forever' is the latest triumph in a career that’s seen Qrion release on Mad Decent, Last Night on Earth, and This Never Happened, and be named on Forbes Japan’s 30 Under 30, adding to notable support from the likes of 88Rising, Clash, Mixmag and Billboard.

Manchester mainstay Mason Maynard makes a highly-anticipated return to Hot Creations this February. Providing the five-track Somethin’ For Tha Underground EP, two leading vocalists feature on the release in the form of legendary MC talent General Levy and American singer-songwriter Hadiya George.

Mason spoke on how the release came together: “I’ve been writing a broad range of styles over the past couple of years and I’ve tried to share some of that here. I’m grateful to have worked with the legend that is General Levy, as well as the super talented vocalist Hadiya George.”

Somethin’ For Tha Underground feat. General Levy begins proceedings. A tribal, old-skool leaning number, General Levy’s vocals add that signature jungle feel, as Mason’s four-four style marches on in the foreground. Ring Of Fire feat. Hadiya George comes next, manifesting as a soothing sunset cut packed full of emotive chords and warming strings throughout. The dub version soon arrives before Motherland ramps up the tempo courtesy of a rolling bassline and rampant kick-hat combos. Finally, Disco Punk brings things to a funk-driven close thanks to an instantly recognisable vocal sample.

Manchester DJ and producer Mason Maynard has built himself an exceptional reputation since first bursting onto the scene in 2017. Releases on Hot Creations, Relief and Sola have cemented his standing as one of the scene’s brightest young prospects, whilst performances at clubbing and festival institutions such as Privilege (Ibiza), Parklife (Manchester), Hideout (Croatia) and Space (Miami) have brought his sound to global audiences.
