Up next on DPE is a Moscow based artist releasing minimal and deep tech records under the name Legit Trip. While this project only began in 2016, over the past couple of years he has already emased an impressive discography including releases on Little Helpers, Kinetika and more. Here we have a tasty three track EP that we are sure will delight his fans as well as followers of the label.
The title track ‘Grib’ is a low slung minimal house track which oozes groove and swagger. A stripped back drum pattern is derived from a crunchy house sound pallet and gives ‘Grib’ a rich and crisp feeling. The beat rides over sharp and punchy sub pulses and a warm synth pattern adds depth together with a well effected spoken vocal.
‘Dver’ takes things a little more dubby with a tight groove over ultra deep subs. A very intricately sequenced drum groove creates a bouncing vibe and keeps you guessing as new sounds and textures evolve throughout the track. A bright synth stab provides contrast and interest as the track creates tension and release moments around a dubby male vocal. ‘Where Are You’ keeps up the rolling nature of the EP and this time Legit Trip delivers a deep energetic groover. Dubby synths play off one another creating an intoxicating groove and texture. A series of short vocals interplay with the crispy drums and warm synth stabs to further cement the playful and dubby nature of the record and its infectious groove.
