As I'm sure most of you already know, the Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, passed away yesterday. My chest has been tight with a heavy heart ever since I found out. At first I found this a little odd because I didn't know him personally. He's not a family friend or a close relative.

Over the last couple of hours though I've realised that I feel this way because of the music he made that inspired me. Ever since I got into House Frankie has been there. His tunes have both rocked my world and the clubs I've played and there is no doubt that this legendary DJ and producer changed the face of music, changed me, changed my life.

The title of this mix is a quote I saw multiple times on Facebook this morning. I don't know who originally quoted it, but I do know this; whenever House Music heads get together to remember him we will all say... 

'Without Him There Was No Us'.
