Gianni Callipari is the Swiss born DJ and producer who has been bubbling under for some time now, crafting his skills, both in the studio and in the clubs, for the past few years.  A crucial member of the Nordstern team (the hi-spec and highly popular 400 capacity nightclub in Basel, Switzerland), Gianni has played alongside a who’s who of DJ talent, from Carl Cox to Seth Troxler, Dixon to DJ Sneak, and of course with Luciano, the Cadenza ambassador.

It is this relationship with Luciano that brings Gianni to Cadenza, not just as an artist, but now also as a DJ (now on the Aether Artists roster alongside many Cadenza stable mates).

The ‘Modular’ EP is technically Gianni’s debut release (save for a track included on Nic Fanciulli’s Balance 021 mix compilation in 2012).  And it’s a confident and assured debut release on Cadenza.  Title track ‘Modular’ is steady in pace, and hypnotically uplifting in melody, without ever resorting to clichés.  Subtle touches to the hi-hats and percussive patterns keep the deep groove locked in whilst the synth work wraps around your head and doesn’t shift.  A track already road tested many times this year already, we know this cut has the power to lose a few minds whilst keeping the feet firmly moving.

‘Girls On Acid’ is less heady, going for a playful loose beat and choppy vocals.  Subtle synth sweeps pick up the energy throughout on this simple, yet effective, percussive club cut.  Wrapping up the release if ‘Boogie Curls’, a skanking and bass shaking track that builds nicely, again without ever over cooking the elements, a great mood piece to sign off with.

London based DJ/Producer PAWSA is an artist on the rise who has already impressed with releases for Lost Records and Green Velvet’s legendary Cajual imprint. Today he makes his MOOD debut with the ‘FLUX’ Ep, a trio of tracks, each underpinned by strong throbbing beats and mysterious basslines.

Opener ‘168’ takes a spooky, brooding path with its spoken vocal and bobbing riff, before we’re treated to a modern, techy tribal number in the form of the thumping ‘Orion’s Eyes’. Having slapped us with  the opening brace PAWSA drops us down on the final, deep and aptly titled ‘Reflections’, showing that the talented producer is more than able to turn his hand to a number of sound and styles. 

Warsaw producer Ptaki joins an impressive line of remixers on the forthcoming remix album of Basic Colour Theory from Pets Recordings chiefs Catz ’N Dogz. Alongside the PMJ and Hell Yeah producers are Jamie Jones,  Claude Von Stroke, Fred Everything, Anja Schneider, Eats Everything, Maurice Fulton, Jay Shepheard and more!

The return of Michael Klein was imminent. Considering the magnitude of his last offering, the „Drawing EP“, it was only a matter of time before he returned with another stellar parcel of forward thinking dance floor bombshells. With his latest contribution ‚Metals EP’, Michael presents four stunning numbers displaying not only his trademark sound, but his evolution and range as a highly promising new artist.
The expedition kicks off with „Silver“ and with it a lush presentation of the perfect balance between thrust and elation. While a persistent rush of momentum keeps the pace, slow yet infectious rises and vast ethereal cries of spacious flickers set the stage for a cosmic ride reminiscent of indigenous settings with boundless, star lit skies.
Following suit on the A side sees Michael return to his approach heard on his last EP. Somewhere between the traditional fundamentals and the future stylings of the most distinguished techno lies „Opaque“. With incredible force and exuberance, Klein delivers off kilter grooves that create a contagious, sweat laden exhilaration, nothing short of pure warehouse bliss.
Kicking off the B side is „Outer Shell“ and it is by far the most emotional and cosmic of all the tunes. Opulent melodics construct beams of radiant light found only in the outer reaches of deep space as flashes of meteoric rises and low bursts of impetus propel the auditor into a never-ending journey into a place where time and space cease to exist.
Wrapping things up is a slow burner entitled „Dura 2 feat. aGhost“. A tune that can be played fast or at the slower original speed, it's a beautiful demonstration of resistance and inflection. As chants of a mysterious female fill the room, shimmers of lavish chimes circle slowly to secure an impassioned sentiment of sorrow, excitement and desire.
To compliment the beauty of 'Dura 2' we've enrolled the services of Roman Lindau to put his spin on the original. With just a few elements Lindau expertly creates a monster of a dance floor stormer. As the bassline continually grows and shrinks with a simple but highly effective four to the floor groove, the excitement swells as short stabs of vocals entice the crowd to peaking trepidation.
