Are just a few of the words that best describes Derrick Carters music over the years. One of my favourite Producers/DJ’s  - period. I wanted to create a mix of my favourite originals, remixes and edits. Always consistent and I have seen him DJ atleast a dozen times.  At the moment I have 69 Derrick Carter tracks in the DC music folder. Hard to break it down to a specific # of my favourites but here’s a start. Enjoy!

Biography
Carter was born in Compton, California, and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. After practicing his DJ skills for a number of years as a teenager in his bedroom, he then made the step into the Chicago house scene.
In 1988, he released an EP with Mark Farina and Chris Nazuka as the group Symbols & Instruments.[5] While the record was not a commercial success, it did have a strong influence on the burgeoning ambient techno movement in England. This established Carter as an international figure in the underground house scene.

Steve is musically known for his deep, funky and jack'n house sound. These music styles have been a major factor in his development as a dj and producer.

Within these genres Steve has produced and remixed a variety of tracks that have been played by some of today's best house DJ's. Never holding back on his creativity, Steve has had success in his short time as a producer and has gained recognition by his peers. With recent releases Steve's sound is progressing to new heights.

Steve has been seen on such labels as: Aspect Audio, Drizzle Music, Delecto Recordings, Lingo Recordings, Deep Street Recordings, Audio Indika, Greenhouse Recordings, Tequila Trax & Velcro City Recordings.

DJ wise, Steve brings an eclectic variety of deep, funky, jack’n & nu disco worthy house sets, that definitely get any dance floor moving. Steve has also established and is resident to one of Denver's best underground house music monthly's called "House Guest!" which takes place on the 4th Saturday of every month and has had appearances by Uriah West, Rescue, Olivier Desmet, Giano, Jeff Service, Marc Fairfield, Mikey V, Demarkus Lewis & DJ Mes to name a few.

With production in full swing, Steve now is honing down his style and skills, making him an up and coming producer to keep an eye on in the future.
