I have a poor-quality recording of my nan playing Silent Night, with me (aged 11) singing - from about 1977.  It's a special link to someone dear.  I'm pleased you found your grandad's manuscript, and have that special link through time to him, and to your nan as the subject of the piece.  Thanks for sharing it with us all.

What a beautiful piece and heart wrenching story behind it. If ever you or your family want it played live I would be honoured to play it on the piano for you all.

Recently my Nan passed away. While sorting through some personal effects we came across a musical manuscript, written by her husband Stan, my Grandad. It was written in Italy in 1945, whilst he was stationed there during the war. No one knew about this piece or why Nan kept just this one.
