I'm also a firm advocate of extended sets and got tired of trying to shoehorn styles of music into 1 hour sets or music so this gae me the freedom to express myself, and importantly let the mix express itself also. 

It's a meandering mix taking in a wide range of styles from Progressive, House, Trance, Techno, Breaks and a little gem of a Drum & Bass track i've been waiting for the right time to be able to put on a mix for a good 6 or so years now.

Summer Solstice Mix Part 1

7 hour mix I put together comprising of much of the music that inspires me on a daily basis. I'm also a firm advocate of extended sets and got tired of trying to shoehorn styles of music into 1 hour sets or music so this gae me the freedom to express myself, and importantly let the mix express itself also. 

It's a meandering mix taking in a wide range of styles from Progressive, House, Trance, Techno, Breaks and a little gem of a Drum & Bass track i've been waiting for the right time to be able to put on a mix for a good 6 or so years now.

Live @ Progmatic

I've spent the last year being resident for one of the finest growing Trance and Progressive brands in the country, Equinox, over in Leicester.

I've had immense pleasure in playing warm up duties to a plethora of headliners across that time but none moreso than this where I had the pleasure of warming things up for Neptune Project who were playing a 6 hour set.

This also marked my final set for the brand for the foreseeable future as I step down to hand back over to Neil Bamford ahead of my heading off to South East Asia backpacking for 4 months early next year.

5 hour mix to end the year from me. A mixture of Prog, Techno, House, Ambient and a healthy dose of Progressive Breaks to end with.

It's a mixture of vibes as the mix progresses, a sequence of ups and downs. Is it dancefloor orientated? Sometimes. Is it more home listening? Sometimes. 

For the bpm counters out there is starts at 117, peaks around 130 and finishes at 114 so a fair variety.

Music For Dark Spaces (December 2017)

I put together a 2 hour mix of music to reflect my past nearly 4 months of travelling. Each track is either something I have introduced people to, they have introduced me to, I have heard somewhere and asked what it was or just music that represents certain moments from across my time in Asia.

I have called it a Mixtape as some of the mixing is stop/start, reason being the tempo differences was huge between some of the tracks, sometimes as much as 50/60 bpm difference but I feel it still has a flow, tells a story and... It's about the music at the end of the day.

The thing about this track was that it was never intended to come out so melancholic but anyone that has ever worked in a record shop that I bought from will tell you I am a mood person and the music i'm listening to is very much dictated by my mood and looking back I guess this is a pretty good reflection of where my head was at at the time.

Steve Arnold - Darkness Fades **FREE DOWNLOAD**

The first in my extended series of mixes. In an age of 1 hour sets and people wanting instant gratification I wanted to do something a little against the grain so will be doing 3 or 4 of these a year.

Don't expect a straight line, it's a mixture of sounds, some is dancefloor orientated, some is not. But it's a fair reflection of the music I love and was nice to meander in and out of sounds.

I'd like to think there is something for everyone but there probably won't be. And any DJ will tell you they are never totally happy with any mix but i'll let you be the judge of whether it is any good or not.

For the bpm bummers, think it starts around 120, peaks at around 127 somewhere, goes down to around 91bpm at one point and ends on ambient music. So, with the greatest respect possible, kiss my bum cheeks haha!
