Heavy Rotations Vol 1 is Maeve's first long player. Releasing a compilation has long been an ambition of the label, however time was the key component in producing a record we could all be proud of. The best laid plans can often fall by the wayside, having a clear idea of what you want to achieve with a record like this changes constantly as you collect the pieces of the puzzle and try fit them together in a way that makes sense.

As well as the label founders we started by also inviting friends that had already released on Maeve, to contribute to the compilation. This was a good starting point as each of those artists are all quite different from one another so we felt it could produce some interesting results. There was no brief, just a blank canvas to contribute something they felt belonged on the label. It was also super important for us to use this record as a platform for lesser known artists to showcase their work.

So after 2 years of planning we finally have an 11 track compilation together which will be delivered as a triple vinyl in early June. It is a record that developed and changed a lot over that period but now is something Maeve is very excited to share with the world.

On May 19th we will launch the record at Funkhaus Berlin with a line up compiled of those who contributed to the compilation.

Premiere: Francesca Lombardo - Terra (PCR Remix) [Echoe]

A year after ‘Together / That’s Right’, long-time friends and sonic sparring partners Steve Bug and Cle return to Rejected with two more statements of timeless intent that tap into the classic foundations of true techno story telling.

Long builds, emotional chords, layers and narrative twists are the devils in the detail as the pair present another couple of ageless hypnotic trips: The craftily titled ‘Tweaky Blinders’ takes the lead with its sombre one stroke chords whispering over the robust kicks and salubrious subs while the wily acid flurries between the spaces. Stately, immersive and coded with sentiment; drop it and watch the crowd march in unison.

The equally wryly titled ‘Bark Side Of The Moog’ follows suit. Once again there’s a solemn air to the chords as they sway with pensive poignancy. This time the drum arrangement is much more full frontal and unavoidable. Rolling with a sense of momentum that’s almost mid 90s prog in its energy, shine and behaviour, yet again Steve and Cle have nailed the timeless feel. Hopefully this will become an annual thing and they’ll return to Rejected for another round this time next year….

“Synesthesia” is the second release from A_A, the experimental live project of Satoshi Tomiie and Nao Gunji.
Since the first album last year the project has had a number of sessions and recorded countless improvisation jams. This release features 4 of those jams in different moods and styles.

Recorded completely live, A_A merges early house music production techniques with those of 20th century experimental music. Italian natives Francesco Mami and SB-Unit get ready to release the ​Old Memory EP​ on Rebellion this July, delivering a delicate and mesmerizing four track journey.

Roll The Dice o​ pens the EP and sets the tone as the rolling bassline gets to work. Next up, ​Lost In The Toilette​ lays down a sub groove whilst leaving room for the chords and bass notes to gradually build throughout. ​Old Memory​ follows, providing an upfront and energetic cut, as a delayed melody builds towards revealing itself in full. ​Keep On​ rounds off the release with sonically pleasing atmospheric elements and returns to a more laid-back groove.

Francesco Mami​ grew up in Rimini where he held one of his earliest residences at Le Cocoricò Riccione and has since then earned respect as both a talented producer and DJ, playing across the world at the likes of DC10 and Burning Man. Formerly under the name of DOS, Francesco has released on labels like BPitch Control, Get Physical and Ibadan Records. His solo release on Rhythm Cult Records was the starting point for his new artistic concept, following his monthly DJ residency at Weetamix Geneva and La Macarena Club Barcelona.

SB-Unit​ is the up and coming project from Salvo Buonocore. Inspired by the electronic sound from both Naples and London and after years of musical and technical studies, he is now proud to release his latest works. In addition to producing and DJing, Salvo heads up his own label ​Polluted Records​ alongside co-founder Mick Piscitelli.
