‘Raw’ returns with the long awaited remixes of Kaiserdisco's 'Jet Stream', a summer smasher spun by almost every key DJ this summer and a key track in the sets of Solomun, Marco Carola, Tensnake or Adam Beyer.

Riding the pulses with perfect balance are the Brazilian connection Christian Smith and Wehbba, whose remix is a svelte classic of layers and loops, minimalism and maximums.

Diynamic’s star man H.O.S.H. goes Euro-skeletal, sharpening the original’s mechanoid riff to ricochet around the lab before bringing in an ear-piercing breakdown, and then embarking on a fuller, more celebratory vibe with his ‘Melodrama mix’.

The Junkies are tasked with taking ‘Ten Commandments’ to Toronto and give expert insight into cyclical techno, simultaneously sweeping the underground and sending down lightning bolts from up high.

An artist with a fabled reputation, Canadian based, Tone Depth, has been an iconic figure in the dance music industry for almost two decades. Joining forces with fellow Montreal resident, Proton Music is delighted to welcome Tone Depth and Simply City to the label with their sparkling "Glass Elevator".

At the forefront of his country's dance movement and beyond with a debut on Paul Oakenfold's "Another World" compilation at the millennium, Tone Depth hit a rich vein of form in the subsequent years with tracks such as the iconic "Rumble Fish" for John Digweed's Bedrock and an appearance on Global Underground's "Nubreed 8", compiled and mixed by Sultan, with "Moments". Releases on Renaissance, Perfecto and Audio Therapy followed as did the formation of his own Bad Pony imprint, before a "spiritual epiphany" occurred in 2015 and a subsequent career "reboot". Thus, Tone Depth reconfigured an approach to his craft with a desire to pursue a more organic methodology to his music using live instrumentation with "more air and ambience". Thus, the August 2016, "Domino Effect" EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat, illustrated this new-found approach to cross-genre appeal, as did a pair of original releases for Bad Pony and a high-profile remix with Jerome Isma-Ae for the latter's Jee Productions, quickly going on to be licensed to Markus Schulz's Coldharbour in May 2017.

Similarly, renowned Chilean raised and now Montreal based artist, Cesar Romero, has cast a spell over the underground scene with his Simply City moniker. A famed producer in his home country and crowned Chile's best DJ at the turn of the millennium, multiple residencies across North and South America have seen a hard-earned reputation blossom behind the decks. Subsequent performances alongside Markus Schulz, Danny Tenaglia and Hernan Cattaneo at festivals including Mysteryland, Creamfields and WMC, have further enhanced a golden reputation. Translating this cachet into the production arena, an impressive 2011 debut for Bad Pony, was quickly followed by the "Breaking" EP in conjunction with Dave Angel for the Nick Warren led, Hope Recordings.

Joining forces for the "Skydivers" EP with The Easton Ellises, Tone Depth and Simply City have already made their joint mark on Cattaneo's Sudbeat imprint, as they now collaborate once more on "Glass Elevator" for Proton. The title track is thus a pulsating bass-driven gem that drives relentlessly forward via deep, resonant kick, hi-hat urgency and clave warmth. Evolving elegantly, a chorus of textured pads sit alongside a delicate string-laden motif that provides the perfect counterweight to the intricate rhythmic groove. Building to a stunning denouement, the blend of intelligent instrumentation and beats-driven prowess, is a joy to behold.

Partner track, "Polaris", continues the heavy rhythmic foundations of its predecessor, as an off-beat hi-hat pattern keeps techno credentials to the fore. A wave of filtered melodies soon hone off the aural horizon as a haunting freeform lead line creates a strong juxtaposition to the hard-edged rhythmic shell. A retro-style stab nestles perfectly in the space provided for it, rising and falling in a stripped back breakdown before hitting its stride in the third movement.

A pair of new tracks find Tone Depth and Simply City find them master of all they survey from the dizzying heights of their "Glass Elevator".

In a much anticipated return, one of the scene’s most esteemed producers Davide Squillace is back with a ten track album. To be released on Crosstown Rebels this March, Once Upon A Time In Napoli provides an eclectic range of both hard-hitting and introspective productions. This release paves the way for an exciting year ahead with several more releases in the pipeline. 

Prepare to be immediately drawn into the album with effervescent opening track, The Boogie Man. Exploring a range of wooden percussion, Squillace layers up with distant chord synthesis, statement vocal and a sturdy kick. In The Mood For Love follows with an array of drum pad beats developing gradually into an anticipated second drop littered with claps and sitar-esque melodies. Distorted vocals and incredible percussion, provided by Italian drum guru Paki Palmieri , form the basis of Dada Is Back. Fourth track on the album, Napoli Texas, opens with a delicate symbol and floundering bassline. An excellent example of the renowned producer’s dancefloor filling production. Chock-full of wildlife samples, Noah is a thirteen minute cosmos of indigenous experimentation. 

“”Once upon a Time in Napoli” is the story of my twenty years in dance music. The album covers the many textures of this journey, with influences of the early days in Naples to my Circoloco residency in Ibiza. Ranging from the warmth of classic analogue synths to the crisp precision of digital beats” Davide Squillace.

The second half of the album starts off with a solid kick, How We Communicate has an otherworldly feel with gnarled vocals and energetic snares. Carrying on the lively vibe, Vostok isn’t for the fainthearted. Squillace incorporates filthy bass, mad klaxons, cowbells and a whole heap of variety into this exorbitant tune. Onto a slightly more minimal approach, Iron Odyseey is an exploration of sounds from dainty triangles to supernatural sounding samples. The gradual nature of Holy Motors leaves the listener hankering for more. Closing on a high, the final song of the album, The Sin Introducing Telemaco, is a majestic chill out track laced with a subtle melancholy.

Originally from Naples, Davide Squillace has cemented his position as a renowned DJ/Producer since first appearing on the scene back in 2004. A resident of iconic Ibiza institution Circoloco for over ten years, more recently Squillace can be found touring with Matthias Tanzmann and Martin Buttrich as one third of Better Lost Than Stupid. Well-known for his exceptional ability to pair music with visual arts, his “artistic think tank” and record label This And That Lab has provided a number of creatives with a much-needed production outlet, often calling on them for the likes of cover art. The album launches a massive year for Squillace and will be released on DLP and digital download.

TheGround - Dediction Remixes

TheGround is Florian Kruse and Hendrik Burkhard, - the two celebrated producers collaborated on a project that saw the release of 'Dediction' on Audiomatique Recordings last year. Happily, Steve Bug’s label has organised a stunning remix EP, teasing out many new directions from the killer source material.

First up is Stelios Vassiloudis’s sleek remix of 'Creature', utilizing his signature feel for arrangement and dancefloor impact.The veteran Greek producer shapes an epic take on the original.

The Berlin based Jonas Saalbach focuses his talent on 'Falling', which features the remarkable vocals of Mi.li.an. Saalbach teases out yet another slice of perfectly pitched emotional tech house, doing more than justice to the original. Saalbach also delivers a dub of the same track, pulling back the vocals and letting the groove take center stage.

Next up comes Vincenzo’s take on 'Crumbling Walls', which strips down the track and builds into powerful deep groove. The vocals are again by Mi.li.an, and sit perfectly within the melancholic, euphoric vibe.

Fake Mood, the Russian producers, take on 'Undercover' and hone in on the track's innate melodic sensibility, creating a lush, dreamy dancefloor burner.The track is also presented here as an instrumental for the DJs.

Kolors is not your average compilation; the project explores the individual visual perception of color and how that compares to the unique auditory experience of music.

The 15 contributing artists have all chosen a color to define the essence of their track. The selected colors expand the traditional spectrum with on-point specifics like ‘Matt Silver,’ ‘Lunar White’ and ‘Mint Green’. Regardless how many adjectives used, everyone will see these colors differently, and that is exactly the point! The experience of colors, like music, is subjective.

The project’s rich concept adds layered depth and gives listeners an expanded auditory experience. The colors are well considered and one hears the artistic intention behind the labeling.

In a profoundly personal, artistic revelation artists also provided the reasoning behind their selection, evoking instant imagery and placing listeners in the mind of the musician. Of their track, ‘Lunar White’, John Charnis & Jimmy Maheras said, “When we wrote the song the melodies reminded us of the moments in a dark dance floor where people's faces were illuminated, whether by strobe lights and lasers, or the glow of the moon in an outdoor party.” That visual association becomes abundantly clear when one listens to the corresponding music. On ‘Fuchsia’ Dance Spirit say, “’Fuchsia’ is the color of universal harmony and emotional balance and helps to create harmony and balance in every aspect of life. That is what we are trying to attain through the message of this song, and our music in general.”

The album takes listeners on an oculauditory journey through time and space; from Julien Chaptal’s lush and peaceful ‘Orange’ to Doomwork’s moody and introspective ‘Midnight Blue’, the LP tells a story. Kolors features seasoned Supernature artists like Den Ishu (who also releases under Desolat and Noir), Carlos Sanchez (a young gun, blazing the industry by storm, receiving praise from industry veterans like Danny Tanaglia and Richie Hawtin) and Audiofly to name a few- but true to their standard the label focuses on emerging talent. Affirming the strength of the label’s talent pool, even the new family members deliver auditory joy in epic proportions.

New to the imprint, Balcazar & Sordo’s “Blue”, is pure tantric! The track demonstrates beautiful restraint, true energy control, feeding one deep, groovy bass line after another in perfect cadence. On the duo Maceo Plex has been quoted saying, ‘These guys are very close to writing a big hit, I can tell”. Well if they haven’t already this is probably the one. Expect to hear it across dance floors this summer.

This album invites you to experience music differently from everybody else, on your own personal terms, based on your own vision. Art is subjective, what you see may not be what I see, and that is the beauty of it. So sit back, and give it a listen... or 10, stroke your chin and ponder deeply. Unlike most dance albums, or label for that matter, Supernature and Kolors wants you to do more than dance, they want you to think and feel and groove - they want you to experience music on a whole new level.

Full Intention are finally back in 2013 with a stunning EP on Rebirth. Michael Gray and Jon Pearn need no introductions. Spreading their dominating sound for the last 15 years they have been a pioneering force on the global dance music scene. The pair has secured a seemingly non-stop string of successful releases and remixes, escalating the twosome of true global status. They produced numerous huge club and charts hits, nearly all of them became all-time classics. Steve Bug is one of electronic music’s true originals. His relentless commitment to quality - both in his own work and in the many producers he has championed - has made him one of the world’s most revered artists and curators, and along with his labels Poker Flat, Sublease Music, Audiomatique, Dessous Recordings, Traffic Signs or Raw Elements has made a sizeable contribution to building the European house and techno scene as we know it.

Like a crusader of the night, DJ and event manager Jeremy J is a household name on the far north entertainment front.

Personality wise, he is a quiet achiever! Behind the decks he will and has mixed it with the best… Jeremy J has the reputation as the DJ’s DJ. A near perfect ear, a brand of house, tech, breaks, hip hop, disco, acid jazz and funk that defines great music and the seamless way of compiling tracks together creating the ultimate party vibe. His diversity to play amongst any DJ or act amongst these genres is second to none and has set the benchmark for all that follow.

Residing in Cairns, Jeremy J burst onto the national scene through the mix ‘If It Aint Broken Don’t Fix It’ through AKA/Triple J and his own compilation release (House2Hard Vol 2), tours and role with Generationext. 

Holding residencies with every major club and bar in Cairns and surrounding areas for over a decade, playing or instigating festivals, supporting and bringing a plethora of acts to North Queensland and across the country, for a regional town his career has been illustrious…and would be seen in this light amongst the guns of major cities. There are simply to many events played and acts he has supported to list!

Respected and revered for rescuing the north’s music scene from the near depths of extinction with his partnership in Electric Avenue, he is not afraid to put the music first. Whether it be DJ’s, bands, electronica or hip hop, Jeremy J and Electric Avenue are striving to give the regional area’s of North Queensland the entertainment and respect it deserves. 

Having been voted #1 in the North Queensland Elec:Tropica DJ award poll, industry achievement awards for his own abilities, events, his retail store and having won first place in a national mix up competition via Triple J, Jeremy has earned his right place amongst the upper echelon. Hosting and guest appearances on numerous radio stations, managing international DJ tours, setting up his DJ school, label management, instigating and running the successful retail outlet and hub for DJ’s in Tastey… is there anything he hasn’t had his fingers in? Studio… yes well that’s a work in progress at present!
