STELIOS VASSILOUDIS & NILS NUERNBERG - Chair In Orbit

Stelios Vassiloudis is a musician, producer and DJ who has released under various other monikers and aliases over the last 5 years, racking up an impressive discography. He has teamed up with Hamburg-based producer Nils Nuernberg, who has been around for over a decade, dropping releases on labels such as 8bit, Moodmusic and Liebe*Detail. These two guys put together a fierce release for Poker Flat Recordings.

The intriguingly titled 'Chair in Orbit' kicks off the EP - it’s heavily arpeggiated melodies and precise sound design already launching the listener into the atmosphere. The track develops a driving groove that somehow manages to stay deeply cosmic while activating the dancers.

'Chrome' continues the vibe - spacey sounds populate a restless groove while dubbed out vocals and stabs provide depth.

John Dalagelis’s version of 'Chrome' takes things in a different direction - a much harder and straighter rhythm provides the bedrock for a tech-house bomb that has its sights set on the outer reaches of the galaxy.

Dario D'Attis (@dario-dattis-1) has developed a well deserved reputation for sparkling, groove-laden house music over his already impressive career. The Swiss DJ and producer has risen to become a celebrated name in the European scene, having held down influential residencies at locations like Oxa in Zurich and through his own renowned party - Amaro. Here he returns to Poker Flat Recordings to showcase all his musical charm once more.

'Solera' is a chunky slice of floor-moving house music, replete with drum  fills, a building energy and a trippy looped vocal - seemingly the perfect vibe for open air parties.

'Body Somebody' is darker in attitude and its sound design - more of a heads down late night stormer that features a cut-up disco loop that gives the track its title, and a masterful use of suspension and release in its structure.

'Solera (Reprise Mix)' brings back the title track and mutates it into a chilled balearic vibe for the beach, while the 'Body Somebody (Instrumental)' removes the vocal and gives room for the DJ to do their thing.

Ché La Seye + Coda Deep, two synth- obsessed producers join forces for 'Enchanted Forest', a slick and atmospheric Techno/House hybrid. A brand new studio and live project by respected London DJ (and BBE family member) Bijan, Coda Deep is an outlet for the his more tribal, progressive, avant-garde work. Ché La Seye is a shadowy and elusive London-based electronic music producer and songwriter with some seriously heavyweight dance tracks under his belt, but sadly we're not allowed to tell you any more than that...
Clean production and expansive sonic vistas characterise 'Enchanted Forest', calling to mind the type of deep, progressive techno sound championed by Booka Shade and M.A.N.D.Y. among others. Venezuelan DJ / producer Dave Delgado aka Diegho supplies a techy, tribal remix of Enchanted Forest, somewhat reminiscent of the new- school afro sound of Culoe De Song.
To complete the package, Coda Deep cleverly combines Enchanted Forest with the Roy Ayers timeless classic ‘Tarzan’ (best known to house music fans from Osunlade’s 2005 remix), creating a compelling juxtaposition between old and new; electronic and analogue.
