Martin Landsky & SHOW-B — Bells For Life (Asaga Remix)

Karmaloft Music presents a new 6 track EP from Berlin based artist Stefan Reh. Stefan invites the listener to his wonderful soulblended minimalistic sound voyage. Accompanied by jazzy trumpet sounds played by Urs and the wonderful voices of Kara and Lisa this EP is another masterpiece of german minimalistic Klangkunst. Urs Gögler alias Bildertal and Matthias Freudmann from Dresden&nbsp;brings the cherry on top with their remixes of Way Out here. Once again Stefan Reh crafts 6 amazing&nbsp; minimalistic chilled gems.Mit seiner neuen EP Stefan Reh &amp; Friends entführt Stefan seine Hörer auf eine minimalistische sowie emotionale Safari durch seinen Seelendschungel. Den harmonischen Zuckerguss steuert Urs durch sein wohltemperiertes Trompetenspiel bei. Die zarten Stimmen von Kara und Lisa beflügeln die Gedanken und lassen sie zu einem Spätsommerabend auf dem Balkon, auf Meeresklippen im Sonnenuntergang, in eine Hängematte am Strand, ziehen. Der vierte Track ist eine Ambientversion von Stefan's „way out here”, dieser stellt ein Meisterwerk der minimalistischen Klangkunst dar. Die Reduktion auf das Wesentliche berührt zutiefst und hinterlässt einen bittersüßen Nachhall auf dem Seelengaumen. Das eigens dafür komponierte Klavier durch Johann, gibt dem Ganzen eine sehr gefühlvolle Note. Im letzen Track zeigt Bildertal alias Urs Gögler sein Können und taucht „way out here” in bunte Klangfarben. Durch seinen verspielten Wankelmut kitzelt er das Trommelfell und sorgt für hauchzarte Stimmungshochs. Mit der EP Stefan Reh &amp; Friends gewehrt Stefan ein weiteres mal einen tiefen Einblick in sein vielschichtiges Innenleben und die umfangreiche Bandbreite seiner Fähigkeiten. Wie sich in dieser EP zeigt, stößt die Zusammenarbeit mit Urs auf fruchtbaren Boden und es bleibt zu hoffen, dass beide Künstler diese Base kreativ und klangvoll ausbauen.

Drawing on releases from the last five years, Dessous Recordings gather together a choice selection of Steve Bug's stellar remixes. It's a compilation that showcases an array of glittering talent and provides a snapshot of the maestro's signature sound. As 'The Long Run' - Bug's collaboration with Victor Font - makes clear, this is house music that sees itself as part of a grand tradition, following in the footsteps of US pioneers from both Chicago and NYC. In line with this, a number of bona fide living legends get the Bug treatment, from the hypnotic vibes of Chez Damier's seminal 'CanYou Feel It' to the blue-tinged chords that lift Ron Allen's 'Wordz' to the brittle semiquavers that act as a perfect foil to the soaring vocals on 'Rise' - an undoubted album highlight.

Within the limits of the deep house blueprint, there are surprises at every turn, from the blissful chords of Lovebirds' 'The Rain' to the immersive repetitions of Martin Müller's youAND:THEMACHINES project to the buoyant pulse of Manuel Tur's 'Ara Anam'. For uncompromising lovers of all things deep, there's Simon Baker's 'Grey Area', lifted by dancing cowbells galore, and a hard-hitting version of Ric McClelland's Scope. And for DJs with an eye on the dancefloor there's Bug's rework of 'At Midnight' - his collaboration with Vincenzo from way back in 2000 - an irresistible groove with an incredibly catchy synth riff.

We're also treated to two re-imaginings of contemporary classics. From earlier this year, there's Bug's stripped-back sub bass heavy version of Garnier's 'Whistle for Frankie' while the deeply reflective take on Francis Harris's 'Pensum' provides the perfect comedown to a glorious long night.

Released February 2017 on his own Ladies and Gentlemen imprint, Green Supreme is the fourth studio album from house music veteran Phonique: a collection of 11 remarkable songs from one of the scene’s most revered producers.

To describe Phonique as prolific would be something of an understatement. To date, he has amassed a discography of more than 500 original tracks and remixes – as well as three previous studio albums – for acclaimed labels such as Dessous, Poker Flat, Crosstown Rebels, Systematic, Souvenir and of course his own label Ladies and Gentlemen, a collection which includes some runaway successes.

The 2010 track ‘Feel What You Want,’ taken from his second album Kissing Strangers currently has over 36 million views on YouTube, while the 2012 track ‘Vincent Price’ currently sits at the 11 million mark, making Phonique one of the very few truly underground producers whose music has the ability to cross into the mainstream.

Despite working on Green Supreme, Phonique’s fierce production rate has continued unabated in 2016, with highlights including ‘T Groove’ on Katermukke and his stunning remix of Frank & Friedrich 'Coming Home' which landed on Universal earlier this year.

Phonique’s three previous critically-acclaimed albums attest to
his evolving sound and diverse in uences, his deep knowledge of house music, and masterful attention to detail, all of which are further established with Green Supreme, arguably his most diverse and polished album to date.

Throughout his career, Phonique has excelled in working with vocalists, a theme that continues with this collection. Tracks of note include the creepingly ominous deep tech of ‘Something To Remember’, on which Stee Downes delivers a phenomenal vocal, and ‘Taking A Chance’, a delicately melancholic deep house cut complete with sweeping synths and half-caught vocal samples.

“This is my most focussed album by far” say Phonique of the project. “An album should be a pleasure to listen to, even in five, ten, twenty years, so it can’t just be a club beats for 60 minutes. I need vocals, warm melodies and stories.

“Personally I really enjoy finding the perfect vocalist for an instrumental I made in the studio. So after getting in touch with the vocalist and giving them directions it’s always an exciting moment to receive their ideas, and my studio partner Tigerskin is incredibly talented in that area. I’m really proud of the end result and hope it will stand the test of time.”
