De Gama Loves To Boogie

Stepping up for our first mix of 2020 is Italian producer Stefano Gamma!! Stefano goes by many aliases, but De Gama is his most lauded in no small part thanks to the 2010 classic tribal jam 'Afrika' that continues to get heavy rotation to this day. He’s co-founder of Samosa Records alongside Les Inferno, a fast-rising edits label from Rome that pushes all types of funk with Afro, Brazilian, Latin and boogie flavours in a disco house style, released strictly on heavyweight black vinyl. For us he dons his De Gama cap to throw down an hour of seriously good club focused edits which are sure to get anyone moving. Trust us when we say, this will get your Friday going in all the right ways, turn it up!

De Gama Loves To Boogie

Smooth, downtempo sun-kissed grooves were the order of the day for the Black Light Disco Show which aired on NYC's www.myhouseradio.fm on Monday 23rd March 2020. In these very strange and troubling times, we need a bit of sunshine in our lives; sunshine and music - and to bring the rays of musical sunshine we had BLD resident and Jedi Master of the beatdown groove, Dirty Old Vinyl. For the first hour, Dirty Old Vinyl serves a smooth, dreamy disco flambé which permeates your very soul. For our guest mix spot, we couldn't have chosen a better match if we'd tried (which, of course, we did!). So, for the second hour we were delighted to have the talented Even Funkier take over the airwaves! 

Even Funkier (AKA Tom) is a South London based DJ, producer, radio host and overall champion of the funk who has a keen ear for a funky gem, which has been developed over more than 15 years in the game. Tom has been on our BLD radar for quite some time - we are keen listeners of his own radio show which is a unique collision of musical 'nerdery', technical expertise and an obvious passion and love for vintage funk, disco, weird and wonderful edits and dusty, crate-digging oddities.
