Ethereal guitar intro swimming in Echoplex and electric bass swells, dry mechanical verse over drum loop (choppy guitars in terse counterpoint inspired by 80's Wire), live drums on chorus with doubled gtrs. (think Suede).

Outro consists of rhythmic loop (record-skip of T.S. Eliot reading from the Caedmon series) .
Lyrics fatalistic, like reading through a very, very old journal which may or may not belong to you. The idea came from the Sonnets to Orpheus by Rilke (ooh, aren't we fancy?) but the connection is fairly oblique.
