Known best for his work with the DEA Project, various solo projects in the late 90’s/early 00’s and more recently with releases on UKG Vibesey, Dr Banana and via his own imprint, Para is a guy who needs very little introduction amongst the true UKG heads. 

This mix providing a blend of upfront and unreleased underground Garage, transversing the abundant styles of the genre, featuring tunes from the likes of Yosh, Oppidan, Gemi, Perception, Arfa and of course plenty of Para productions thrown in for good measure. Sit back and enjoy the ride 🚘

Unfortunately the recording is a bit hot so not the best sound quality, but some good mixes in here none the less. The recording was started after my first track and cut short on the end. 

I guess you can say its authentic cause it basically sounds like an old tape pack lol.

What came after the oldskool.......?

Distanced from the commercial sounds that UKG had become, away from the grime and broken best scenes that were forming, a bumpy sound started to emerge somewhere in early 2001. 

Innovative and energetic, skippy and fresh, this niche nuskool sound was a far cry from what preceded. 

And it needed to be. 

This often overlooked period - "the forgotten era" - was full of new producers and labels, with plenty of familiar faces at the forefront.

This vinyl mix from Andy1up aka releasethapressure is a 2hr showcase of the proper nu.skl garage sound of the time, "bringing back da bump"....
