"Homage to a Son" is an approximately 16 minute long, one movement concerto for solo violin, piano, harp, and orchestra.  It contains a number of quotes and references to various concerti and other works by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Saint-Saëns, Brahms, as well as jazz and popular works by Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Paul Simon, and others.

This performance features Monte Belknap, violin, Steve Lindeman, piano, and Caroline Jorgensen, harp, with an orchestral of Utah first call session musicians, conducted by Eric Hansen.  It was recorded at LDS Motion Picture Studio, June 11, 2021, engineered, edited, and mixed by Michael Chadbourne.

This is a tribute to my brother, Tim, as well as Jack Casady, Jorma Kaukonen, Jefferson Airplane, and David Crosby, with quotes and references to some beloved songs, including "Triad" (featuring Jack Casady's incredible bass line), and "Young Girl Sunday Blues, with echoes of Tim Buckley, Frank Zappa, and others.
