Exactly a year and a half ago, a group of friends decided they wanted to help each other’s musical careers in any way they could, realizing the amount of talent and mutual respect between one another.  We had a shared vision of a world where electronic music was no longer devoid of artistic ingenuity, and thus, WUMP Collective was birthed into the multiverse.  What began as a couple musicians sharing tips and promoting each other’s work, has evolved into a massive family of passionate art-lovers, weirdos, and creatives with a communal focus on improving the world around us in the best way we know how: creating & sharing art.  We have expanded our roster of amazing artists to include several more musicians, a photographer, a few ground-breaking painters/artists, and a makeup artist that blows minds.  While serving a niche community of art-lovers, we continue to dip our toes into a wide variety of different styles and mediums of art, allowing the most avant-garde of artists a chance in the spotlight.

Our mission:

With the media constantly focusing on the unfortunate happenings around the world, it is easy to feel weighed down and like we have no hope in turning things around.  What they DON’T focus on is that for every “bad” thing that happens, there are about 1,000 amazing, beautiful things happening every moment around the globe.  Babies are born, paintings are finished, novels are written, inspiration for a new song pops into a musician’s head, and did I mention all the orgasms?!  

The world is a beautiful place, but it is easy to fall into the traps of society and give up on your passions because you feel pressured to ‘play the game’.  While balance is an important key to inner peace, we absolutely refuse to give up our passion and play by the rules.  We will never stop fighting for our dreams.  We will pursue them relentlessly, and embody purposefulness and integrity in our efforts to do so.  If you are reading this, we invite you to join us on our journey, and we hope that our music and art inspires you to create your own art.  We feel confident that this community will continue to grow and define us as human beings, and we hope we can bring some light, love, and positivity into the world by building each other up and supporting each other’s passions unconditionally.

Today’s release:

On the music side of things, we recently surpassed 2,000 followers on Soundcloud.. something we did not expect to happen so quickly.  Thanks to the love and support from our loyal fans, friends, and families, our music has spread to every corner of the globe (spheres don’t have corners, bruh).  To celebrate this milestone, each of the WUMP Collective artists contributed a song to release in this WUMP 2K Compilation album, making it our biggest, most exciting release to date.

Without further ado, we would like to present the WUMP 2K Compilation album!  Stream it and download it for free, and share!

Scatz - I Had To

As we begin 2017, we extend to you an invitation to explore your emotions and allow yourself to feel, with Stan’s new single, “Beyond the Skies.” Denver-based producer/violinist, Stan, has built notoriety for implementing instruments such as violin, piano, and acoustic guitar into his production, and today's release is a really special example of just that. Take a step back from the politically-induced neuroses, Facebook arguments, and day-to-day hustle for 4 minutes to allow Stan to take you on an internal sonic journey through your emotions. We promise you’ll emerge from the experience feeling refreshed and re-centered, and you may even shed a tear or 6. 

Stan’s signature violin and piano melodies immediately transport us to a light, freeing atmosphere, evoking a powerful range of emotions and connecting to an existential longing that we all share. Purposeful percussion and subtle sub-bass ground the listener, providing directional traction while the soothing strings lift us into the ethereal- to a place beyond the skies. As the song progresses, we hear filtered, distant vocals that add a layer of depth to the soundscape, providing the spaciousness necessary for the exploration of one’s emotions. Continuing to build and complexify with quickening bass kicks and broken beat tension, “Beyond the Skies” culminates in a finale that will leave you breathless in its wake.
