Next up in our mixtape series comes part of the nu-breed of DJs breaking out of Edinburgh, Eva Crystaltips. Eva is spreading her love for disco music across the Scottish capital for your boogie pleasure with a hint of 'je ne sais quoi'. 

She has DJed alongside luminaries including, Horse Meat Disco, Hot Chip and Greg Wilson and was recently selected by the Smirnoff Equalizing Music Programme, giving her the opportunity to be mentored by Artwork and perform at Snowbombing 2018.

Playing a mix of old and new tracks, originals and edits, some classics and some songs you've never heard before, Eva's selection of funk infused, soulful sounds will make you move, shake, smile and groove.

Closer to home he’s recently been on the bill for Beat-Herder, The Lost Disco and recently headlined at Manchester’S premier Sunday daytime den of all things house and disco, Supernature.

Curtis will be making his Lost in Music debut when he joins the bill for our August Bank Holiday soiree with Egyptian Lover.

Mixtape #14 - Curtis Randles

Playing right through the spectrum from Disco to House, Grant Holmes is resident DJ and co-promoter at Edit. Presents, when not on Edit duties Grant can be found playing at various nights and festivals around the north such as La Discotheque at Manchester’s Albert Hall, The Beat Herder Festival and Drop the Beat Festival

Hailing originally from Blackburn and DJing since 1995, Grant’s early teenage years luckily coincided with the boom of the illegal Blackburn Warehouse Parties and Acid House music explosion, and this is where his love of house music was forged. Grant then progressed from house music obsessive train spotter to DJ’ing in clubs at night and working in record shops during the day. 
 
Take it to the present day and Grant is co-promoter and resident DJ for Edit. Presents, which later this year celebrates with the mighty Spen taking to the decks at The Refuge.

This week’s instalment comes from Josh Ray. The versatile Liverpool-based DJ who has spun at festivals including Africa Oyé, Positive Vibration and Festival Number 6 and found gigs in places like Addis Ababa and Amsterdam.

Drawing from a wealth of music, he’s played house, disco, Afro, Latin, jazz, soul, blues, dub and electronica in support of acts including Azymuth, Scientist, Tamikrest, The Apples, Banana Hill and Clap! Clap!

Josh manages Greg Wilson’s Super Weird Substance record label and has more recently begun to explore his own edits and mash-ups with Ché Wilson (another fellow Mixtape Allstar – check out Mixtape #13) and a cohort of like-minded DJs/musicians in the Fire House collective, whilst also forming the dub wise Super Weird System alongside legendary Ruthless Rap Assassin, Kermit Leveridge.

Alan Dixon is one half of London’s Midnight Riot and is currently a resident at Savage which combines glorious disco DJs with an army of pole dancing drag queens to create the late night, naughty party of Bethnal Green, housed at former strip club, Metropolis. Currently residents include Hifi Sean, Jonjo Jury, Luke Solomon, Guy Williams and Alan Dixon with regular guest appearances from the likes of Heidi, Artwork, 2 Bears, Benji B, Erol Alkan, Smokin' Jo and Krankbrother. 

Midnight Riot are renowned UK DJ/Producer duo Andy Williams (Yam Who?) & Alan Dixon whose passion for innovation has driven the Riot labels success over the past five years.

Midnight Riot have gone from strength to strength with their chart-topping compilation series and the critically acclaimed album from Detroit’s Amp Fiddler in 2016. They have also been honing their sound in the U.K & abroad too at clubs & festivals including Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Horse Meat Disco, Garden Festival, Glastonbury, Bestival, Savage, Wilderness and the legendary Pikes in Ibiza.
