Dave Lee joins forces with London’s super disco collective, Horse Meat Disco to rework the T.S Monk classic, 'Candidate For Love'. This debut collaboration also features long-time Sunburst Band vocalists Diane Charlemagne and Donna Gardier.

There are three mixes on offer with the classic Joey Negro Disco Blend, a more sleezy Horse Meat Disco Mix and a Moroder-ish dub version from JN.

Believe it or not this is the 200th Z Records single release which saw a limited pressing on coloured vinyl as an exclusive for Record Store Day 2014, one that sold out within hours of hitting the stores.

NYC house royalty Barbara Tucker and Parisian production sensation Sam Karlson team up for a mega collab on The Disco Express.

Renowned for iconic tracks 'Beautiful People' and 'I Get Lifted', Barbara Tucker has had six No.1 hits on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart in the 1990s and into the 2000s. Flash forward to 2022, and Barbara Tucker pulls out the stops yet again with another soulful house belter Miracles EP. Together in Paris with Sam Karlson, she recorded 'Miracles' and 'Be Yourself'. The former being inspired by the lyrics to 'Elvis Presley's, 'If I Can Dream'.

Having released on Big Love (Defected Records), Robsoul and Hypnotic, Sam Karlson is known for his signature disco / funky / gospel house sound. Endorsed by David Guetta and Bob Sinclar his production flair is evident. Young Pulse (Glitterbox / Funky French League) adds the cherry on the cake, brilliantly reimagining lead single 'Miracles'.

This collection of underground dance music covers tracks released between 1975 and 1983 from both sides of the Atlantic. The tracks chosen for this compilation introduce some of the pioneering few who expanded the horizons of disco to incorporate elements of dub, funk, electro, jazz and Latin. In some ways many of the artists featured here foresaw the birth of successive musical genres. There is no disputing that they were all well ahead of their time and with the recent trend of similarly inspired house they sound as fresh today as they did then.

The music chosen for this album were the underground classics that made the scene what it was in the heady of days of the Paradise Garage and the Loft in NYC and the Warehouse in Chicago where DJs such as Arthur Baker and Francois Kervorkian could be heard spinning such tracks.

On disc two (CD version only) Masters at Work add their touches to one of their favourite tracks while Harvey and Underdog take on the Disco Dub band and come up with two very different interpretations which will work on today’s dancefloors.
