was looking at andylittle's "super mario UFO land" mockups on twitter and got inspired to do this little thing. this isnt tied to any kind of fangame project or anything lol i just did it for fun. havent done something simple like this in a while so it felt good to pound this out.

I hate to say something as generic as "8-Bit" but I scarcely want to call it NES because I left in the echo notes for the triangle wave which I believe is an illegal move.

Happy with how I handled the accompaniment. I managed to incorporate the rhythm section and both parts of the backing pads. Most of all I'm glad I managed to make a full sounding mix with these limitations. 
Usually with my NES-style stuff I gave into temptation and added in the Gimmick bass/DPCM drums AND the extra saw channels or w/e and SO ON. That would complicate things too much so it'd end up messy. I managed to get this good of a mix with only 4 voices, and that's pretty fly.

The Electric Dancefloor [5-N163]

In celebration of the future release of Gensokyo Night Festival, a Touhou-fangame with Suika as the protagonist, I decided to arrange this theme!

Went with a different approach with this theme and went with less stuff on the Noise channel, as I generally think I make them a bit too filled up, which I'm nnot sure is a good thing. Overall, I think it worked nicely~

Created this in FamiTracker via the VCR6 module, and within the span of around 4-6 hours during school and at home instead of doing homework. Most of my other covers I've published have been of older pop songs from the 50s-90s, so it was interesting to take a shot at a more contemporary- no less really fun doing one of my favorite songs from the past year. I decided to try some new stuff with this one– particularly using custom-made DPCM samples for the "I'm the baaaaad guy... Duh!" part. I also made a bit of a bold move and decided to use the triangle section for the main melody in the chorus instead of the bass part like it's usually used for, which I think paid off surprisingly in the end. This was a fun cover to work on, and I'm proud of how clean-sounding it ultimately turned out. I know I probably think this about every latest chiptune remix I make, but I'd have to consider this my best, or at least one of my best covers I've made in the past 2 or so years. Hope you enjoy it!!

I actually made this song around two years ago when I first started using Famitracker, but I never got around to finishing or uploading it. It basically came into being due to my simultaneous lifelong fear and interest with fire alarm devices and things that make loud noise.
