Ever not how you can see the world in general, or you can focus in on one detail- but it's tough to see all things in balance, in context?  Painters and photographers have dealt with this phenomenon forever.  There are ways to blend the subject with the "background," so they tell a story.  It has context in writing, and in music.  Even a good soundstage relies on depth of field,  Left and right, but also back and front, in mixes.    

This song was written just before I began playing bass.  Initially based on my attempt to learn a Lowell George tune that went off the reservation.  Here's it's got guitars, bass, keys (samples) and percussion.  Lot's interplay and seeming nonsense to distract or create a story.  All performed by yours truly, as the other songs in this playlist. 

I'm planning on 3-part harmony, maybe with vocal synth. So now it's still pre-vocals, as I am in final stages of lyrics.  The arrangements with instruments as planned as of today, but subject to change.  Comments and free to share with credits is welcome.

This song is a metaphor about how we see the world around us.. Do we filter out subjects or things around them?  It's a photographic term, but has context in everything we see, hear, do or experience.

"Deep Pockets (I Can't Sleep at Night)"  Here's a song I started back in 2013.  It's a funky little ditty that as the sound track, music bed, to a dream that woke me up.  I decided to go to my iPad and jot down some parts.  The original title was "Ipso Facto, Deep Pockets."  I had been sinking a lot of my own money into "our" studio for years, and it was starting to bother me.  So easy for some to take, can make make it hard for others. 

This version is instrumental parts, in-progress.  A mix with vocals is coming soon.
