Amazing track - not heard this one before

One of my favorite quotes is ‘Words can only affect you to the degree in which you think they are true.’ Now, recently since I've been DJing more, I've been getting some messages saying you're not a real DJ or you're only getting these gigs because you have a lot of followers or you're the problem, you're what's wrong with the scene. And this used to affect me, but it absolutely does not affect me anymore because I know I am putting in the work. I am listening to every single Beatport release. I'm listening to every single promo that comes my way. I'm reaching out to my favorite up and coming producers to get my hands on unreleased music that nobody else has heard yet. When you put in the work, you stop worrying about the opinions of others and you focus more on your own progression. Sander Kleinenberg once told me that a great DJ listens to four thousand tracks and picks the best twelve he think the dancefloor will enjoy most. And that's all I'm focused on. I'm putting in the work. I know you guys are putting in the work too, and because of that, I think this week's mix is my best mix yet. And I really hope that you all enjoy it. JOAN RETAMERO warm-up Live Set with SASHA AND JOHN DIGWEED @WE, AMS by Watt Events

Its always an enormous pleasure to play at Skyline Events and back in February this year I was able to do that once again. This time round I was playing directly before the headline acts of Sebastien Leger, Time Green and Roy Rosenfeld as they went Back to Back to Back. Its still very much winter in February so darker for longer. The vibe in the room was already great from previous super cool sets from Austin, Super Progressive, Dobbo and the meastro's that are Andy and Twilo. I had opportunity to lift the energy a touch which the mix reflects, the BPM moves from around the 116 to the 118 mark. We kicked off with the cool warm vibes of "Parallel Worlds" courtesy of Stereo Munk, before getting deeper but melodic with “Wrinkle in Time” and then Gai Barone's wonderful remix of “Reverie”.  From here the energy lifts through “Spring Winds” and a sequence of really cool grooves commences as we shift through the gears with “Renacimiento”, the glories “Riviera” and “Aprige” before culminating with the lovely vocal classic “UUUU” from WhoMadeWho, what a moment and then closing out with "Gamma" and "Feel Affection".

Skyline 12 - February 2025

Its always an enormous honour and pleasure to play at Skyline Events and back in April this year I was once again able to do that.  This time round it was with the massive SUDBEAT label. On after the ever classy residents Andy and Graham (check out their set in the comments) and playing before the brilliant John Cosani. The set below is inspired from that day.

The vibe in the room was already super cool and I had the opportunity to grow the energy which the mix reflects, BPM's move from around the 118 to the 120 mark. The room was warm and light and so we kicked off with the cool warm vocal vibes of "Soul Guardian" courtesy of Armen Miran, before getting deeper but melodic with “Graycloud” and then Junkermann's wonderful “Layla”. From here the energy lifts through “Forest Beast” and Chris Cargo's glorious "Random Factor" then follows a sequence of really cool grooves as we shift through the gears with Kyotto and Emrat, before exploding with the lovely vocal classic “Poets of the Night” remix courtesy of the wonderful Eli Nissan, what a moment and then closing out with some more gorgeous music courtesy of Kyotto, Stereo Munk and Karmon.
