✔️ Was sind deine musikalischen Einflüsse? 

Ich habe im Berlin der 90er Jahre angefangen elektronische Musik aufzulegen und zu produzieren. Aufgehört habe ich damit bis heute nicht. 


✔️ Was macht deiner Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus?

Die große Kunst, niemandem mit seiner Musikauswahl auf die Nerven zu gehen, ist wohl das Qualitätsmerkmal eines jeden Afterhour DJ's. 


✔️ Welche Gedanken magst du uns zu deinem Mix mit auf den Weg geben?

Stell Dir vor Du stehst am Meer, auf einer kleinen Insel ca. 800km über dem Polarkreis. Die Sonne knallt Dir ins Gesicht, der Wind weht stark und Du steckst Barfuss im kalten Sand.

✔️ Wie hast du den Gig empfunden?

Das Set wurde am Sonntag Mittag auf dem Soria Gathering Festival (Midnight-Sun Festival) auf der Norwegischen Insel Værøy, Lofoten aufgenommen.

Es war das Sommersonnen-Wochenende, was so weit über dem Polarkreis, 24 Stunden lang Tageslicht bedeutet. Die Bühne stand direkt am Strand und die Kulisse der rauen Norwegischen Landschaft war wirklich sehr beindruckend.

Pascale Voltaire, ein aufstrebender DJ und Produzent im Bereich meldodic House und Techno, hat sich in der internationalen Clubszene einen Namen gemacht. Anna Jahn (born in Dresden/Germany) is a DJ and producer inspired by electronic music. Growing up in Dresden's underground techno scene, she discovered her passion for music culture at the age of 17 and started organizing parties. In 1998, she took her first steps as a DJ with Goa on vinyl before developing into a versatile artist who creatively combines house, electro and techno. In her career, she founded a party crew, organized the "Ohrgasmus Festival" and co-founded the Triebwerk club in Dresden. As Plastique Violett, she played regularly in clubs such as Kilowatt and Hörsturz before taking a ten-year break. In 2024, she returned as Anna Jahn, further developed her style - melodic, percussive techno with influences from house and electro - and celebrated her debut at Bellini Mainz. She began producing her own music. Her first track “MOTIVATION” marks the beginning of a new creative phase. Performing under her real name, she remains an exciting artist with her energetic sets

3 QUESTIONS to KOLLEKTIV OST:

Q: Talking about your mix: What did these tracks mean to you once and what do they still mean to you today?

A: We could have taken hundreds of titles and we are very happy with the current selection, because they represent exactly the titles that have shaped and moved us. All these titles blew us away back then and still do today.  Some of them we play even today, if it fits. These titles are simply evergreens for us.

Q: In times of Corona and shutdown of all possibilities for us artists to perform your music on stage: How do you spend your days?

A: We just try to make the best of the situation.  Currently we spend a lot of time in the studio and work on different projects. Apart from that, we also try to think about the simple things in life without a lot of hustle and bustle. We both live in rural areas in the beautiful Mecklenburg Vorpommern and like to spend a lot of time outside with our dogs.

Q: On which future projects are you currently working on - so what to expect the next few months?

A: We are currently working on some remixes and also own releases. Another heart project, which we are now rolling out again, is to bring our own label back to life after 6 years. We are full of zest for action and are looking forward to everything that is coming! Even though the world is upside down and we are all being put to a hard test, we must not forget that health comes first and that we are thankful to be healthy. We are optimistic that we will all be able to dance together again soon and one thing is clear, that music connects us all, no matter where we are.  Stay healthy out there!

Kollektiv Ost - HOW I MET THE BASS #178

Steven McIntyre, born in 1975 in Münster, discovered his passion for music as a teenager at a British boarding school, where he immersed himself in various pop genres and electronic sounds. His journey into the music scene began in 1990 with an internship at the record shop King Music in Münster, which led to his first DJ experience. He quickly gained recognition, becoming resident DJ at the Cosmic Club and from then on travelling as Steve Stix. His first own events, with headliners like Miss Djax, Ilsa Gold, Steve Mason and Scooter, caused a sensation.
In the late 90s and early 2000s, Steve's career blossomed as he performed alongside renowned DJs and opened his own record shop “Dundrum Records” in 1999, which was originally planned as record label. With residencies at Maria am Ostbahnhof in Berlin and Cosmic Club Münster, as well as founding Monopark events, he continued to create a stir in the electronic music, which had a major influence on the electronic music scene in northern/western Germany, especially for minimal and early melodic techno. He also worked as a freelance record critic for various dance magazines (Raveline, Groove …) and on the jury of the German Dance-Music Awards in 2000-2003. 
In 2013 he founded his own event and media agency, also dedicated himself to artist management and graphic design. His commitment to music production culminated in releases on renowned labels such as Traum Schallplatten and Stil vor Talent in 2023.
