Tash's Movement Recordings opens the month of May by welcoming Carsten Halm to the label for his debut EP. Based in Cologne, the German artist has been a DJ for well over a decade, playing some of his country's trendiest clubs along with his self organized events. As a producer Carsten has made considerable strides since first appearing in 2016. Solee's Parquet Recordings has been a comfortable home for the Cologne resident, with three releases landing in 2020 that earned play and support from Animal Trainer, Artbat, Eelke Kleijn, Format-B and Solomun. Now following 2021 offerings via Clubsonica Records, Monkey League, Traum and UV, Carsten makes his Movement Recordings debut with 'My Heart', alongside a remix from Jerome Isma-Ae.

Destined to be a highlight in Carsten's discography, it is the poignant stylings of the title selection which get the release underway. Rhythmically charged from the outset, its smooth cadence, striking stabs and buoyant groove set the piece on a course for aural enlightenment. Emotive chord changes and haunting vocal phrases make for a thrilling first act, carrying momentum and mood into the main break. Glowing swells and soulful phrasing delight across the centrepiece, further enhancing the genuine mood, as a timely drum roll and rising sonics unite for a tasteful crescendo and balmy finale.

Making his second appearance on the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'My Heart' is Jerome Isma-Ae. The German artist has been one of the most unique, sought after and best-selling electronic music producers of the last decade. Combining influences of progressive house and techno with distinguished drum patterns, shapely basslines and a keen dancefloor sensibility have led Jerome to projects via Anjunabeats, Songspire and his own JEE Productions imprint. Having made his Movement Recordings debut in 2018 with a well received remix of 'Delta' by Ziger and Blusoul, Jerome now makes a welcome return to the label with a thunderous rendition of 'My Heart'. Adding more of a progressive state of mind, the German artist carves out a dynamic groove adorned with firing percussive, charming vocal fragments and fresh rhythmic themes. Emotive chord changes and poignant pads emerge as the second movement evolves, bringing goosebump worthy moments to its dance floor inspired framework, and ultimately propelling the track to a thrilling finale.

Two fresh interpretations for Kamilo Sanclemente's trademark single 'Dew' which was released last year.

Industry veterans Weekend Heroes are on fire lately with a continuous output of very big releases. They've just topped the Beatport progressive house chart with their single 'Upside Down' whilst their other singles 'Lucid', 'Brightlight' and 'Dragonfly' and 'Off Limit' also moved quite a few crowds to say the least. They deliver a proper peak time melodic progressive house rework here, top shelve stuff!

On the flipside we welcome on board Ceci for his Manual Music debut. The Italian producer provides a nice contrast to the ruggedness of the other remix, going for a more laid back approach. Lovely organic instruments and flowing airy soundscapes make this a true dreamer.

Two strong remixes that certainly do Kamilo's original justice.

Kamilo Sanclemente - Dew (Weekend Heroes Remix)

Yeröm returns to ICONYC for a new release, this time around in collaboration with Aves Volare. The duo delivers an absolute classy piece of music entitled 'Hold me Down'. The Belgian and German based duo have been a mainstay in the electronic underground with their meticulous curriculum of musical productions. 

They kick things off nicely with their original mix of 'Hold me Down'. The melancholic moodiness shines through, as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords and vocal sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. Yeröm's trademark beat manipulation is prevalent, as all manner of elements drift in and out of earshot while Aves wonderful vocal work completes the picture. Perfect for any melodic loving club crowd and to get you in the mood for a big night out.

James Harcourt, who has seen his releases featured on some of the world's best and beloved labels, marks his debut on ICONYC with a classy rendition of 'Hold me Down'. He created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a deep edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as his restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm melodic glow with an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

Next up we welcome Four Candles for his debut on the label, the English maestro, fresh off some smashing releases on Bedrock and ICONYC Noir delivers two superb reworks for some peak time madness. Known for his polished sound, he keeps the general structure of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh and upfront – His transcendent touch ups take the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy and energy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, changing the vibe and creating a blanket of energy that wraps around a brilliant driving groove. Superb!

With 'Hold me Down' Yeröm & Aves Volare really show that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful melodic gem guides you to a full-on club laden, melodic hug of a release that will cause many smiles induced moments! ODTD039 sees the Oddity return of Casper Cole following his debut last December on Odd Echoes Vol.5 with 'Fortuna'. Now is the right time to delve deeper into his talents, calling on outstanding support from vocalist Ed Begley and Fur Coat for the remix. Emotion fuelled title track 'Matter Of Time' has all the attributes to storm the melodic techno charts. Featuring a stunning vocal from Ed Begley and a brilliant arrangement from Casper, who allows Ed's voice to shine while embellishing and layering analogue elements to complement his tones - heightening the sense of drama and tugging at the heart strings. Expect this to feature heavily in key DJ playlists. After signing the original Oddity label boss Sergio Munoz knew a Fur Coat Remix was needed to fully unleash the clubbing potential for this great track. Sergio amplifies all the important elements, while cranking up the energy and intensity. Deep pulsating stabs and punchy beats are underpinned by beautiful warm synths and subtle effects on Ed's vocal to create a truly compelling clubbing moment. The breakdown is a lesson in composition, taking 'Matter Of Time' up to a whole new level as the driving beats then re-enter and raise the roof. Closing track 'Overground' gives a wider insight into Casper as a producer, as he delivers a dark intense dance-floor cut with echoed arp lines, throbbing bass and rolling percussion. The break allows a brief release of tension, before drawing you back into the cavernous sounds. Perfect for an extended DJ set in a hot dark club.

Black Sharp’s original, “Another Chance” is a story without words. Orchestral at its core, the track derives its heartwarming nature through the expressiveness of the acoustic piano and solo violin. A duet that will warm the coldest of hearts. Fidan takes the primary ethos and magnifies the violin’s expression, pulling out as much longing nature as possible. Concentrating on the groove, he adds additional organic percussion to bring it to the dancefloor. Lastly, ReCorpo’s interpretation takes all that comes before it and adds a tribal element to give the track some added depth and flavor.

Black Sharp’s “Another Chance” EP encapsulates the transportive nature of Inner Symphony. More melodic that its label siblings, Inner Symphony’s passion comes though the artists’ understanding of the arcane relationship between the music that has come before and today. 'After a beautiful summer filled with extraordinary moments on the dancefloor, we are ready to set sails into the golden autumn. And what better way to start this fabulous time of the year, than by welcoming Robin Schellenberg and VRuno to the family. They join the label with two magnificent originals, sweeping you right off your feet. 

The tunes are all odes to different functions of our most important organ, the brain. And each track shows us a different side to these talented artists.We start off with “Precuneus”, which surrounds you with powerful synths swirling along the feisty groove. As the name relates to the perception of the environment around you, we can only close our eyes and let ourselves drift away with this dreamy masterpiece. 

Next up is “Cerebellum”, which refers to a part of the brain that plays a vital role in physical movement. It is mysterious, with playful synth elements teasing and driving forwards to a catchy groove, all supported by smooth percussions. 

Joining in on the fun is the one and only Rauschhaus, and he is set to deliver a proper remix of the title track. “Precuneus (Rauschhaus Remix) takes a gritty and atmospheric turn, with dark synths and a pumping groove showing why he is the perfect artist to round up the EP. 

This one definitely sets the tone for how the Heinz Music autumn will sound like, so you better strap your seatbelt and get ready for a ride.'
