This piece is based on the Biblical event described in Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-25.
It describes how one can be in similar situations these days, feeling as if we're in a boat that is at the mercy of a tumultuous sea with its raging waves that threaten our very existence and wellbeing. The hymn ends with the affirmation that the Lord Jesus is with us as He was with the disciples at the time, and asks Him to calm the storms around us.
