"I was 20 years old when I was first properly introduced to
electronic music. My musical background only consisted of having played “professionally” the recorder flute during my childhood, but not much apart from that.
I even recorded a few tapes back then, but mostly to satisfy my technical curiosity.
As soon as I was old enough though, I started traveling to nearby nightclubs and parties in larger cities with my friends. While others preferred dancing to Monica Kruse, I found myself more and more drawn towards the Schranz-floor. Although back then I hadn’t yet entirely grasped the importance that techno music would play for
me in the future.
At 24 I got hooked on Homo Elektrik, a party-collective from Leipzig, and my then girlfriend animated me to try out dj-ing. I bought myself two Technics mk2, that I still own today, got gifted a Gemini technomaster, and acquired myself a Vinyl bundle in 4/4 time.
Techno music is such a multifaceted music genre, so that I decided to stay faithful to it ever since. I only do Techno, 4 to the floor, it makes me very happy, especially when two different tracks mix and fuse together and start to groove." fr.JPLA

Joel Mull's career spans over three decades. With a background studying classical music, singing in choirs and playing in bands, Joel found electronic music at a young age as a source of freedom. His frst experience came from DJ’ing in the chill-out areas of rave parties in his native Stockholm during the early 90’s. With his roots from Germany, Hamburg, he moved to the city in 1994, and worked as a resident DJ for 3 years at one of the biggest techno clubs in Germany, Unit Club. This was an important period for him and as a DJ; It learned him how to control the energy of the night on the dance foor, from warm up sets to 10h marathon sets. With releases on music labels worldwide along with Cari Lekebusch, Robert Leiner, Adam Beyer and Jesper Dahlbäck he counts to the frst wave of Swedish techno producer who became known around the world as the "Swedish techno sound". He has produced over 100 releases and under various names such as Icarus, Gotzkowsky and most recent under his alias Damm. He often refers to himself and his craft as a sound architect, and if you’ve ever experienced his club sets, you’ll understand why. Under his ambient and electronica alias Damm, Joel revives one of his earliest aliases and expands upon this discipline even further.

Tonight it’s all about a very well known artist showcasing an uplifting, steely and dark Techno sound with a personal touch. DJ, producer and label owner, Pfirter has been shaping the scene in his own way, nurturing new uprising talents and already established acts in the circuit through his label Mindtrip. His debut full-length album ’The Empty Space’, released this year, showed Juan Pablo’s more panoramic view of his sound through records that were not so club-oriented, although still remaining inside of DJs' crates all around the world. 

Electronic music bastions such as Berghain, Concrete, Griessmuehle or Rex have witnessed his skills as a DJ, now let’s hear what he has in store for HEX.
