Techno meets Tech House in Transcode and Fideles’ latest work, a split release that sees each act put forth three original tracks packed with dancefloor heat.

UK forerunner Transcode initiates the journey with Magnetic Empathy, an attractive slice of subtle weaved Techno tension. Complementing its subdued nuance is Flutter, which unravels an array of arpeggiated strings, building up a slow paced yet a highly strained chunk of Tech House goodness. The most aggressive piece of Transcode’s triptych, Supremacy summons a dark and cavernous ambiance. A white noise dotted intro launches into a highly strung and progressively riveting Techno burner.

On the flipside, Innervisions alum Fideles channel their multi-layer productive chops kicking off with L’Alba. The main focal element is an ascending cluster of whirl winding synths. Tyred exposes a restrained bassline that stays constant throughout the track. What inspires is the sparkling melody crafted out of varying layers of bells and chimes.

Soft percussion announces Wired Mind, while swarms of dainty synths make up the melody. The track's uplifting riff creates an introspective mood, a fitting finale for an EP filled with club weapons.

Opener Galactica sets the tone with electric pads and spacious, echo-ridden synths that create a playful yet compelling melody with a highly memorable bassline. Euplea is arguably the most stirring cut of the four, with a whirlwinding pad and incessant bass that emerge from the first bar. Nocturna brings forth equally spatial sounds, arched around a massive build up with a breathtaking drop. It’s the perfect drama-infusing track, an ace in the sleeve when deployed at the right timing. Channeling huge drums in a tribal-like ambiance, Endless creates suspense through minimal layers and lofty pads, rounding off the release in a well-timed manner.

An artist’s first ever release is always an exciting occurrence.
In this case, it’s the “Cabora EP” by Ukrainian DJ and producer Angelov, whose tracks Solomun has played in many sets around the globe. This and the fact that Solomun passed the tracks on to a few of his high-tier DJ friends created quite a buzz on social media for the young artist.
An EP with four rousing tracks now marks the beginning of Angelov’s producer career. If this is the beginning, the future of this young artist sure looks promising.
