Two years on since his latest incursion on Stil vor Talent with 'The Pictures', Switzerland-based producer Kellerkind turns in his newest four-tracker, 'Forest Mystery'. Delving in his natural inclination towards mystique-imbued tribal sounds, this new effort packs a serious Afro-futuristic kind of punch, laced with a powerhouse hi-tech feel bound to cut a path of devastation across the dance floors. Fully designed and kitted out to meet the requirements of extensive DJ use, this new package lets its whirlwind of polyrhythmic boogie and cosmic groove do the talk as Kellerkind ushers us in a blazing furnace of sorts.
Where the title-track 'Forest Mystery' flexes a bouncy swagger flush with middle-eastern tropes - including some fiery darbukkah solos, and nicely complemented by classic piano house stabs, flamenco-informed clapping and a hi-intensity buildup to rev it all with irresistible club impact, 'Karinda' treats us to a further hypnotic sequence of stripped-back East Coast grooviness and dubbed-out sensuality, bridging the gap between loungey house and proper ritualistic music thanks to spellbinding shaman-like vocal samples out the foggiest jungle.
On 'Mantra', a more aggro, industrial-flavoured verve echoes far and wide, ready to take on any sound system with both that typically intoxicating vox hoodoo wrapping itself around a thunderous techno backbone. Giving us a taste of eternity on the nostalgic closer 'Time', Kellerkind pulls out a massively emotional firework of Prophet-6-powered space dementia and intricate drum programming, laced with an unstoppable bass-driven landslide devouring everything in its wake, making clear 'Forest Mystery' dwells in the club and nowhere else. Right on cue for extended action throughout the even busier part of the summer ahead of us, here comes Gespona's third Stil vor Talent transmission, 'Acridis Talk', after his previous two 2022-released studio efforts, 'Kune' and 'Magota'. Hailing from Barcelona, Gespona champions a sound both sensually deep and openly groove and percussion-focussed, which echoes well the type of sound he tries to bring on stage. Armed with his Elektron Digitone and Moog Sub 37, the Spanish producer pulls out a quartet of essentially tribal-minded tunes designed to fit any moment of the night, in terms of both rhythm and ambience, harnessed for proper explosive peak-time business and further spacious atmospheric sorties in equal measure.Beating a martial pulse, 'Helicon' goes hard in the paint with its cleverly engineered mix of hi-intensity EBM tropes, sizzling tech outbursts and lavishly hued synth envelopes from outer space, gaining maximal momentum up until about halfway in, when the wildest break/drop combo ensures to have you taking a tumble into the greater void. A more subliminal, delay-heavy piece of 4x4 expression, the title-track 'Acridis Talk' trades the linear buildup of the opener for the kind of syncopate swagger one would be hard pressed to resist. Befogged under a thick haze of FX and processed machine talk, the track evolves into a fiery pseudo-acid/indus slasher, murky and oddly rousing as it gets. Perhaps the epitome of Gespona's signature moody ambivalence and thorough floor-destroying acuity.Recorded in collaboration with fellow Barcelona-based Argentinian producer Djolee, 'Colorblind' showcases the housier, more atemporal facet of Gespona's work. Laying down a feverish assembly of soulful vocals out the classic mid-90s house repertoire and more exploratory keyboard work on a kosmische tip, the pair has us transfixed with their highly infectious blend of ancestral vibes and ultramodern groove. Together with Buenos Aires' rising talent Abuk, the Barcelona maestro shifts focus onto more intricate polyrhythms, treating the odd Latin / piano house classic to a vibrant facelift, as it nimbly swings the pendulum between elegant melodic brittleness and no-prisoner, bass-laden floor menace. A work of dual beauty and rugged power, hypnotic and entrancing from all angles.

Greg Ochman made his debut on Sebastian Leger’s Lost Miracle imprint with "Delylah & Blonde Nuits" which was very well received by both his fans and contemporaries. His style can be described as organic house and the special quality is that he combines sounds and genres that would not be found in one and the same track by any other artist. As he said in an interview with Progressive Astronaut: "there is always that unexpected moment i hit a great chord progression or a melody that puts a smile on my face, then I can say it’s a journey into my personal universe." His remix is just about showing that diversity in a progression which this time ended up in a fantastic lighthearted and positive 90ies club track: A track that through the twists brings a lot of joy to the dance-floors.
