Animal Picnic & Aaryon have already made their mark in terms of stamping their strengths as a collaboration team, offering up a unique combination of flare and talent. It’s no surprise to see them come together again to bring you Steyoyoke Black’s next release. Titled Vortex, this EP delivers a total of four original tracks, each of them possessing their own imprint and presence that engages the listener with every twist and turn.

First up is ‘Vortex’, which jumps straight to the point of divulging the tracks overall foreboding vibe. The bass line is unyielding throughout the entire track and with such brazen synth riffs, Vortex seems to pursue and command your attention. Be prepared for an onslaught of power and raw vigor.

‘Particles of God’ is the second track on the EP and with its cave like echoes, underwater inflections and metallic drums, it depicts an almost aquatic industrial soundscape. The track has a fierce pulsing energy to it and a monster break down that mimics this intensity perfectly.

The third track ‘Orion’ pursues a rolling more melodic sound then any of the other tracks on the EP. Playful piano riffs are masterly crafted around flurries of snappy percussion and textured grooves. ‘Orion’ allows you to bask in its elevating melodies and distinguished charm.

‘Rhapsody’ is the fourth and last track to feature on ‘Vortex’. Arousing a sense of mystery with its cool calm attitude, this track radiates an unflinching seductive flow. Hypnotic bass and stabbing synths prod and poke, all whilst endeavouring to lead you deeper into darker territories.

Partial Press Release: The 43rd release on microCastle welcomes Brian Cid back to the label for a brand new EP. The NYC based artist has enjoyed much success since his label debut in December of 2014. An EP on Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound and a mini LP on Guy J's Lost & Found Records top his 2015 highlights, while 2016 holds even greater promise with a new project for Cityfox on the horizon. Over the last 12 months Brian's sound has taken on a life of its own, increasingly organic and deeply emotional, the US artist has further stretched his sonic boundaries, with luminaries such as Adriatique, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Joris Voorn, Richie Hawtin and Thugfucker now play listing his music. His return to microCastle has been much anticipated and a quiet start to 2016 has only made his rapidly expanding fan base even hungrier for new material. Brian now presents his second EP for the Canadian imprint entitled 'Belles Du Shaman' alongside a remix from Eagles & Butterflies.

The EP's second selection 'Plastic Memoir' finds Brian crafting what might be the most heartfelt composition of his career. It's ten magnificent minutes is highlighted by subtle emotive shifts, minimalistic yet powerful grooves and a melody that will resonant in your heart long after the night is over, as Brian describes "Plastic Memoir was written to be a long musical journey. Something magical happened when I played these melodies on the keys. I must've hit some notes that took me back to a memory that never really existed, but made me feel vulnerable in a beautiful way. That's where the title 'Plastic Memoir' comes from. A memory that really wasn't there - or was it? maybe from my past life? who knows. I kept it musically minimal and focused on the melodies which grow strong and then weaken throughout this magical trip."

Durch seinen Freundeskreis hatte @franandco schon in seiner frühen Jugend viele Kontakte zu orientalischer, insbesondere persischer Popmusik. „Außergewöhnliche Klänge mochte ich schon immer“, gesteht der Musiker. Nun hat er einen neuen Track produziert: „Shah Parvaz“. In den ersten Teilen der Nummer hört man ein Kanun und gegen Ende die orientalische Flöte Nay. (...) Das Stück „Shah Parvaz“ kommt mit einer gediegenen Bassline daher. Kurz nach einem intensiven Break folgen die hypnotischen Vocals. Eine fesselnde Synth-Sequenz begleitet den Track und orientalische Flötensounds runden das ganze ab. (...)

Beatamines is a Berlin based producer with a wide range of styles in his arsenal. He has released on the likes of Toolroom, Keno Records and Einmusika (just to name a few) and regular plays at clubs around the world. 
He now releases on his label Lauter Unfug with 11 tracks of emotionally driven grooves that confirm he is one of the best out there. 

The album is very personal and means his own sounds come to the fore and each track is laden with musical personality. "Red Mountain" is first and is five and a half languid minutes of lazy deep house with gorgeous keys drifting up top. It sets the scene nicely and is a great opener. "Spark" then immediately picks up the pace with more driving drums and frazzled synths that will get the club going. 

David Keno is then a guest on "Omega", a spine tingling cut with mellifluous melodies rolling over the drums. Tracks like "Good" keep you in a trance with their proper piano keys and dreamy chords all soothing the soul and "Dark Shadows" featuring Matchy gets more gritty and menacing, with rumbling bass and a spooky sonic landscape getting you on edge. 

"Neighbours" ups the ante with chords that keep you on your toes and the latter half of this cultured house journey plays out through the likes of "Remember the Vibe", which is stripped back to rubbery drums and atmospheric pads, and the more spine tingling 

"Third Eye" feat Seth Schwarz, with its arcing pads and refuelled emotions. "Pacific" is the most peak time of the lot with busy and driving drums and "New Fade" and "Frames" both coming awash with lush chords and expansive pads that ooze real soul and musicality. 

All in all it is a complete house vision that you need to hear.

Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki's main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 are wholehearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted.
