The title track commences with subtly rousing drums, gradually building up a melancholic groove, perched on a backdrop of warm pads and spiralling synths.

Another set of oriental-inspired percussion comes to life in Zed, a lengthy journey of winding pads and shimmery riffs. The wailing vocal makes for a distinctive sound bite, while blending in deftly with the aid of a dramatic lead merged in ethereal throbs.

Mosaic brings forth another apt fusion of electronic and otherworldly elements. The symbiosis between the two remains linear, with incidental swings to each side of the realm, proving the artists’ ability to steer through divergent moods and combine them into a unitary, curious composition.

With the title Kasra, a name signifying ‘king’ or ‘ruler’ in the Persian language, Sam gives a nod to his Egyptian influences, whose sonorous traits can easily be picked up on all of the three original tracks included.

The centrepiece of the release, Kasra, unfolds as a dynamic composition ridden with sonic glints, whether it’s sudden vocal chops or exotic instrument reverberations. The tribal-infused vocals give it a luscious gloss, while the uplifting synth lead pushes the tension to the breaking point.

Following in the same sensuous vein, but taking off on its own terms, Senorita grips onto a main vocal lead, whose soft howls add a nostalgic dimension to its buzzing synth backbone.

Dystopia goes beyond a sonic exploration and summons an entire realm with its integral dreamy esthetic. Rolling out nimble percussion and hazy synths, it’s an overall euphoria-inducing track filled with catchy piano loops.

Atish is responsible for the Kasra remix, providing an upbeat and more functional alternative to the original. The initial tribal vocal loop is subdued and minimized, while theatrical synths take the spotlight, ensuring a release finale on a compelling note.

A natural for stirring melodies, Berlin-based Sam Shure channels his all-around manifold array of talents into his debut album.

With its versatile moods yet compact constructions, Laconia is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The album features ten tracks that draw on Sam’s jazzy roots while staying grounded in his usual melodic, mood-heavy aesthetic. Laconia features collaborations with fellow producers Cioz and Cook Strummer, as well as a special apparition by Sam’s paternal figure playing the Oud on Mirage. The tracks explore a diverse array of dispositions, from groovy up-warmers such as Mangata or Louna to more lively dancefloor aggregators such as Kamala Bani, on to the deeply polarizing, whirlwind synth dinger Guz or the more experimental self-evident Not Much To Say.

A novel detail makes an appearance on Je te vois, an acoustic electronic dance number with poetic lyrics tenderly sung in French for the first time. The artist’s romantic side also shows through the mystical elements interspersed throughout, from the spellbinding Encanto to the dreamy soundscapes of Atreyu, named after the famous German fantasy book character.

Thanks to a modest key riff and more cosmic effects, Aubade lends its meaning of “greeting in the sun” to the atmosphere, rounding off the release on an incandescent note.

Nomade is a song created by blending different cultural entities. While listening to a Bulgarian old folk song, you will find yourself dancing in a structure consisting of bass and melodies. You will dive deep with saxophone notes and wake up again with strong Brasses. The meaning of the song's name actually comes from here. We constantly migrate to different geographies and different worlds within the song.
