Fusing a straight out martial groove with impeccably integrated piano chords painstakingly drilling their way across thick strata of raucous drum processing and layered machine thunder, the hair-raising "Any Reason Why" featuring Dominique Fricot's velvety vocals encapsulates the greater part of SKALA's signature synthesis of heart-rending melodicism and profuse amplitude of energy, continually counterbalancing force with scope, ruggedness with nuance. Support track "Dare" follows a similar course as it ushers us in the midst of a spiralling synth-feast tweaked to brooding effect, swells of modulated keys weaving their tortuous chassis alongside grim subs and aggro bass salvos to shape a monster DJ tool of a tune.
