Pauke Schaumburg are back on Katermukke , returning with three tracks full of their signature 
majestic ambiance and powerful low frequencies-adding new wrinkles to their game and showcasing their ever-evolving craft, resulting in the addition of three richly layered gems to their already impressive back catalog.
 
“Immerse” catches your attention right away, built around a triplet time signature and slowly 
ramping up the intensity until a short piano sequence cuts through the tension and adds a feeling of elation and hope which is carried forward throughout the track.
 
“Phases” sees another of Ken and Nobbys trademarks on full display, the masterful evolution of a track from gloomy, bass heavy groundwork into nothing but epic and triumphant euphoria.
 
“Solar” is based once more on a powerful bassline in classical Pauke fashion and shifts seamlessly between tense, slightly disorientating breakdowns and the absolute certainty that the sun will shine again for us, exemplified by a dreamy piano floating innocently on top.

You wouldn’t find pearls on the beach. If you really want a pearl you will have to dive for it. For over five years we’ve been browsing through boundless seas and branched forests to find powerful gems leaving a sharp impression while taking us on a journey. They infatuate, fascinate and delight the listeners falling in love with the works of art. What makes the quest most fun: the more unknown the artists, the more truthful the productions. After all, it is music that makes us do things we usually wouldn’t dare. It is a whirl we really like to jump into like a big and swinging web of silk and sorrow.

Tento album vznikol počas náhlej zimnej búrky, keď sa nad Veľkými jazerami zrodil lake-effect – biela stena snehu, ktorá prechádza z Kanady cez Erie, Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago až po New York.  
Mráz, ticho miest, hučanie vetra medzi domami, prázdne ulice a autá stratené pod snehom.  
Hudba zachytáva ten pocit, keď zostane len kabát so zdvihnutým golierom, posledné teplo pod ním a dlhá cesta cez zamrznuté mesto.  
Emotívny deep house, dark minimal, hypnotické groove, zimná melanchólia.

This album was created during a sudden winter outbreak, when a lake-effect wall of snow forms over the Great Lakes and crashes down across Erie, Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago, and New York.  
It captures the frozen silence of cities, the wind echoing between buildings, empty streets, buried cars, and the heavy quiet of a long winter night.  
A soundtrack for walking alone through a snow-covered city: emotional deep house, dark minimal textures, hypnotic rhythms and cinematic winter ambience.

For our tenth tale, we welcome Lausanne-based up-and-comer Jeremy Vieira, aka Several Definitions. 2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

After showcasing his knack for emotive productions via various EPs throughout his career, including chart-topping singles on Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep in Sound and Dave Seaman’s Selador, the Swiss artist Several Definitions now reveals his first full-length album. It should come as no surprise that the artist found familiarity in what he calls the “Berlin style” of electronic music and notably, that of Oliver Koletzki’s Stil vor Talent.

Reborn After The Road is an intense and emotional affair, consisting of 14 tracks crafted using field and live recordings, switching between analogue and digital to mould a sonic atmosphere that emblazons the artist’s core ethos. Although the personal experience that sparked the inspiration for the LP is far from pleasant, Several Definitions’ style is audibly resolute.

Reborn After The Road, the album’s eponymous track, creates a fitting intro for the healing process that is to follow. Its airy pads and majestic strings sonically stand at the epicenter of the expressive album. Several Definitions continues to explore these sounds on vaporous slices like Pontcéard 32 or the more acidical Last Breath. The mellifluous, feminine vocals of LaMeduza on Learn To Feel and Her, as well as Spanish singer Goldsun’s crooner talents on the introspective Trust, on the other hand, showcase Several Definitions’ ability to work the human voice into his musical explorations. Taking introspection one step further towards darker realms, Senelity then feels like a rite of passage into the deeper and more intense segment at the album’s core. Over You briefly signals a turning point, with its alarm-like synths and grave leads, which is then followed by the glitchy resistance on Modular Spaces. The Escape presents itself as a natural occurrence after the string of turbulent, sometimes conflicting feelings – it is a final attempt at evading the depths of animosity. Next, Dancing With Valkyrie comes in as a determined resolution, introducing a new wave of more enduring, complacent moods, also evident on Help and Don’t Stop To Fall. Preparing the exit by way of straight-to-the-point techno, Target Topic rolls into Her, the final piece of the emotional puzzle.

Conceptually, Reborn After The Road is the sonic vessel for a cathartic process, conjuring up atmospheres reminiscing of different phases in life: childhood, the strength of unconditional love, and the inevitable sorrow that accompanies death. The humanity of the emotions on show explains the music’s universal appeal, as Several Definitions offers the listener a glimpse into an artistic healing process.
