More Than Me

Summer is slowly but surely coming to an end and the nights are getting longer again. What could be more fitting than an EP called Night Shades? Responsible for this is Berlin artist Jiggler, one half of former Bar 25 favourite Channel X. He has been causing a stir with his solo project for many years, including releases on Stil vor Talent and Katermukke. The first track, Night Shades, which shares its name with the EP, captivates with its driving groove and wonderfully dreamy yet uplifting lead synth. With the second original, Voyager, the journey through the night continues seamlessly, albeit in a more rousing and darker way. Jiggler is supported by a total of three artists with their own interpretations of the originals: Richard Elcox, the Scottish Berliner by choice, who was already playing around with his brother's Korg MS-20 at the age of 11 and the well-known Matija and Contenance here in Zurich. The former has been part of the local scene for over three decades, the latter is well on his way to emulating Matija.

After delivering an electrifying remix of Folgar & Chumbita’s Meltdown in late 2024, Portuguese producer Vini Pistori returns to Kiosk ID with ‘Life’—a four-track EP that threads technical sophistication and suspended emotion into a sprawling brand of hypnotic, floor-focused energy. Drawing on personal memory, Life reads like an audio diary—intensely textured, lushly composed, and grounded in a powerfully human sonic philosophy.   ‘The Green Tree’ is a lush, atmospheric groover. Built around a lively bassline and rustling found-sound percussion, the opener progressively transforms quivering pulses and wondersome chord progressions into a melodic flurry of energy, ever sharper and more electric. Sometimes it's a matter of perspective. It’s that old story: If you only know one leg of the elephant, you might think it's a tree. Only different perspectives give you the full picture.

The same applies to a frame. For some, it means orientation, focus, safety, or the rules for a good game. For others, a frame means limitation, restriction, regulation, or an inappropriate narrative. Both perspectives are valid depending on space, time, and the people involved. Of course, different perspectives are not alternative facts. A fire in the Carakum Desert is not a date grove. However, the meaning of a fact depends on our perspective. Behind some perspectives are needs. That is human nature. I want to dance, you want to dance. Shall we try it together? Not every step on the other’s toe is wicked intent. Sometimes it's clumsiness, sometimes it's even funny, and sometimes you've just made a really wild move yourself. Sometimes it's a wake-up call… When we forget how to share different perspectives, we see trees where there are elephants, we see division where there are similarities, and fears are fulfilled instead of needs. And in the end, we may only see letters where we actually can hear Meeronauten Musik!

Markus Toepfer - Floating Feeling

Sascha Braemer is back with his first solo-EP on Stil vor Talent since his massive 2011 hit ‘People’. Teaming up with friends old and new, the result – ‘Animal Instincts’ – is simply stunning as Braemer showcases the versatility of a producer at the top of his game and an ability to think outside the box. 

Kicking things off, the EP’s title track features the iconic Jake the Rapper on vocal duties. Seamlessly marrying a dark rap with mysterious singing, Jake compliments Braemer’s flawless arrangement of swinging synths, rolling percussive elements and deep bass notes, all held together by a tight groove, perfectly. On ‘Yeahhh’, Braemer presents us with an epic slice of deep house with ethereal pads gliding over muted vocals and impelling toms. 

Anna Müller, known as one half of HVOB, lends her beautiful voice to ‘You’ on the B-side. Here, Braemer has crafted an impressive framework of subtle guitar licks, heavy-hitting snares and a melancholic but catchy bass-line that makes for an atmospheric, almost haunting listen. As waves of acid swallow Müller’s sensuous vocals, we are left breathless. To round things off, Finnebassen turns ‘You’ into a bright club track that animates aided by sunny synths – funky!
