Niconé, the versatile musician and likeable style-icon: unshaven and latently bleary-eyed, of course, but elegant and – thankfully – modest at the same time. Over the past years, Alexander Gerlach has become synonymous with a certain playful touch and light-hearted attitude that flows through his music and goes hand in hand with a laidback natural tenor. 2011 saw him release the hugely successful ‘Romantic Thrills’ album together with his good friend and constant partner in crime Sascha Breamer. Now, two years later, Niconé is presenting his first solo full-length, ‘Let Love Begin’, on Stil vor Talent. ‚Burnhain’ gives a taste of what’s to follow and is one of two 12“ EP accompanying the album. 

On the A-side, ‚Burnhain’, classic house sounds such as driving high-hats and 90s rave stabs offer a nod to the past, while hitting the zeitgeist. ‘Querido’, which features Sascha Braemer and the newly discovered vocal talent Yvy, initially drops the energy on the B-side before exploding with Mediterranean life, castanets included for good measure. ‘You Are My Best Meowfucker’ then pushes us back into the club as a techy rhythm and repeated vocal hook draw us to the floor. The track’s twist offers itself in the form of a string loop that lends an oriental edge. Spicy and addictive! Let love begin..

Ben Weber is a self-proclaimed sound-anarchist. Catchy melodies, jazzy funk and dreamy melancholia embedded in well-structured arrangements and airy beats define his sound.  His influences stem from his youth where he was mesmerised by punk, metal, funk and wave. Here, on the extremely versatile LMF014 ‘The Streets’ four original productions in collaboration with Phable and Alex Eilers are being showcased alongside two remixes by Low Steppa and WD2N.	

While ‘Castle in the Air’ convinces thanks to its laid-back charm, rolling percussion and sun-drenched guitar licks, ‘Unconditioned Love’ presents itself as a deep midnight chugger with a Balearic vibe, epic chords and emotional strings, all complimented by Phable’s stunning voice. ‘Nineties’ and ‘The Streets’ together with Alex Eilers are more forward, with the former paying homage to the classic Jersey house sound and the latter channelling 80s synth-pop within a deep house context. As for the remixes: Low Steppa rebuilds ‘Castle in the Air’ on a robotic UK garage groove for his peak-time bomb, whereas WD2N enhances the melodious aspects of ‘Unconditioned Love’ on his interpretation.

The inspiration for this remix came to me while sitting on Ray's sofa.  MY eyes were shut, and the mdma was working beautifully. Pattern Drama had written a beautiful track and the cello reached out to me. I instantly thought to elaborate on the classical side of this and engaged Afriqua & Hana to help me bring this idea to life. Each played to different versions of an early mix I had put together, with Afriqua and I working in my studio here in Berlin, whilst Hana (based in London) and i worked over Skype. A few days were spent gathering the recordings and making an arrangement layered with the Moog. 
This was a very enjoyable moment for me and marks the beginning of many more. 
Big love to Pattern Drama & Touch of Class for loving this remix and being supportive of it and to put it on the 12".

We are honored here at Musicis4Lovers.com to be able to host the new remix from Nu and Acid Pauli of Daniel Bortz's beautiful composition, "The Misery feat. Nils Corssen". 

Daniel Bortz isn't a big fan of reckless experiments. A fact that makes this new release even more remarkable: he's breaking his own rule of not having his own tracks remixed.

Needless to say, he didn't just pick anyone to get this job done. His choice fell on some highly esteemed friends and colleagues, resulting in a quite remarkable package.

Acid Pauli and Nu give us their interpretation of “The Misery”, using Nils Corssen´s voice as a hook lead element, never losing the melancholy vibe of the original and still putting it into a rather dancefloor-compatible context.

Xinobi has been part of the Nurvous family for almost 3 years now which is practically the beginning!  I was just now listening to his earlier cuts.  While I still love them you can hear how Xinobi has stayed forever a student of music as his sound has matured and really growing into his own style.  

"Spend The Night" has really big sounding crazy arp, I don’t know how else to describe it but that it stands out and will be memorable in a good way!  
"Cacao" shows Bruno’s more playful side, it’s just a really fun track.  I can picture it being played on a rooftop with the sunshine and a brief rainstorm!!!!  seriously though, listen to it.

A strong statement in the middle of this EP, for an otherwise carefree bunch of buddies from the East of Flanders. That's only one side of the picture, though. This frustration and despair gets bundled with gratefulness and hope in their most recent "Bleached Flamingo EP". So don't take them for pessimists. Yes, they like some drama. And it's up to Stavroz to translate this in their way to music. 
Melancholic yet mesmerizing, confident yet haunting, but not too much that it sucks the life out of you. Because they added groove. And groove is life.
