Niconé, the versatile musician and likeable style-icon: unshaven and latently bleary-eyed, of course, but elegant and – thankfully – modest at the same time. Over the past years, Alexander Gerlach has become synonymous with a certain playful touch and light-hearted attitude that flows through his music and goes hand in hand with a laidback natural tenor. 2011 saw him release the hugely successful ‘Romantic Thrills’ album together with his good friend and constant partner in crime Sascha Breamer. Now, two years later, Niconé is presenting his first solo full-length, ‘Let Love Begin’, on Stil vor Talent. 

Over the course of eleven tracks Niconé showcases a versatile and distinct vision of contemporary house music that is produced beautifully but, more importantly, isn’t afraid to surprise with maturity and playfulness. The title-track ‘Let Love Begin’ opens the album in ample style: brooding and mysterious, Niconé teases us into a deep sonic landscape of enveloping bass, moody piano keys and epic synth pads. Malonda, who recently lent her voice to H.O.S.H.’s ‘Life is Music is Life’ EP, acts as a shining light to guide us through the atmospheric first seven minutes. ‘Hysterminia’ is equally subtle with its delayed chords and a classy deep house bass-line, until wild claps and a dominant piano melody eventually open fire. After the success of ‘Caje’ a new collaboration with Narra was an absolute must. She bedazzles us next on ‘Candelaria’. Here, the melancholic melodies of a Spanish guitar propel the track forward, while a bouncy beat seems made with the summer in mind. ‘You Are My Best Meowfucker’ then pushes us into the club as a techy rhythm and repeated vocal hook draw us to the floor. The track’s twist offers itself in the form of a string loop that lends an oriental edge. Spicy and addictive!

A lesser producer would have perhaps placed the following track, ‘Heroiné’, at the album’s end due to its romanticism, fed by soft synths, gentle progressions and hopeful piano chords. At the center of ‘Let Love Begin’, it acts as a beautiful break, as eight minutes of pure endorphin inducing bliss. The calm before the storm, which follows in the form of ‘Burnhain’. Here, classic house sounds such as driving high-hats and 90s rave stabs offer a nod to the past, while hitting the zeitgeist. ‘Querido’, which features Sascha Braemer and the newly discovered vocal talent Yvy, initially drops the energy before exploding with Mediterranean life, castanets included for good measure. Next, ‘Keep it Deep’ does what it promises as Niconé leads us through an arrangement of aquatic depth with powerful bass hits vibrating underneath dub chords and Benjamin Franklin’s emotional voice: hypnotic, magical and toxic. 

Niconé and Braemer hand us the antidote with ‘Wish U’, a track that already proved to be a standout on Stil vor Talent’s recent SVT100 compilation. Fun is of the essence, with a break so big it might just be inescapable. On the last two tracks Niconé moves away from the organic sounds that make up most of ‘Let Love Begin’ as ‘All Right’ and ‘Arr’ are distinctly techier. On the former, Melonda compliments the techno bass-line and old-school sample stabs beautifully, making for an unexpected highlight. On the latter – a collaboration with Gunjah – spherical, almost operatic synths float over a sleek bass bed, thus ending an epic journey on a dazzling high. Repeat and let love begin!

Following up Swiss producer nuemp's Bug Of June EP released earlier this year on fellow Swiss producer Night Talk's AYM imprint, the two Basel, Switzerland-based producers recently met up in the studio and crafted their first collaborative single, "Binary Division".

Together on "Binary Divison", Night Talk and nuemp's symbiotic energy slowly builds, stirring warm, swelling drums pads into soft percussive layers along with an off-kilter synth line and a wistful melody, conjuring a quietly deep atmosphere reminiscent of walking through the snow at night.

Night Talk and nuemp's "Binary Division" will be released January 3, 2017 on AYM.

Montreal artist @Kora-musique takes the next steps for recently launched New York label Earthly Delights, an imprint centred on spotlighting talents pushing the boundaries of electronic blends. The Canadian producer and DJ picks up the mantle from Yor Kultura, who provided the labels first release in a three tracker titled 'Odyssey'. Kora comes to the label after the well received 'Nuit D'Afrique' and 'Ovo' on Kindisch in November. He treats Earthly Delights to two original cuts in 'Fragile' and 'Vayu'. The pair have already seen much support  from the likes of Acid Pauli, Hernan Cattaneo, Oliver Schories, as well as heavy rotation on the playa. White Ocean founder Timujin supplies the remix action, reworking his own top notch version of 'Fragile'. Today, we're very excited to present to you in full premiere 'Fragile' in its original mix. This is an incredibly emotive cut, which fuses two distant worlds in one exquisite concoction. Soft pads, beautiful rhythms and a distinct eastern vibe mark the latest footprint in the journey of the young music maker. Release date - January 16th, 2017.

We feel PHCK's music has been heading towards us at All Day I Dream for a while. Lee Burridge was all about Aeris (on Connoisseur) and reached out to them to express his love of it. PH and CK (yes, it really is their initials) returned the love of our label and sent some amazing music shortly thereafter.

Not aimed at every DJ's dance floor these three tracks mark the beginning of a journey on our imprint for artists we believe in. We hope to release their debut album in 2018. In the meanwhile though as Autumn arrives we thought we'd ease you gently towards the shorter nights with three deeper shades of emotive house music. Put your headphones on and drift away,make a beautiful mix for your partner or your audience or, for those inline with our sound, play them out loud at your events. We hope you love them as much as we do.

The sophisticated raciness of Dole & Kom is always a fascinating thing to witness. Their title ‘Samoja’ means serious business in terms of beats, bass and the resulting danceability. The playful instrumentations and afro vocal part of this title create a very musical counterpart. ‘Juniper’, their streamlined second track on this EP, follows a trajectory that clearly aims at a good time on the dancefloor while its mighty hypnotic potential remains hovering in the background like an otherworldly presence. Variation is always good and that's why there's two remixes, as well: Mollono.Bass with an energetic departure and Elfenberg with a tribalistic flow experience.
