Our next vinyl release comes from one of our core artists and the most recent commander of our HUB series, Clint Stewart. It is safe to say by now, that Stewart's strength and appeal lies in his versatility and his most recent EP ‘Shadows On The Wall’ may be the best example yet. Spanning dark, massive cuts to uplifting, ethereal journeys, his compositions always remain steadfast in their focus to create dramatic, emotional narratives and unforgettable moments. From the start, the self titled ’Shadows On The Wall’ featured in Pan-Pot’s debut BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix sees Clint deliver his heaviest tune to date where unrelenting percussion lays the foundation for an onslaught of climactic sonic eruptions emanating in an impressive display of powerful vibrations. ‘Nias’ takes a different trajectory as it shoots into celestial spaces where throbbing low end and lush pads harmonize into a vibrant array of gorgeous, shimmering aural arrangements. Following the approach of the previous two but landing somewhere in the middle is ‘Lost On Kauai’ where heaving drums and monumental bass converge with fever inducing arpeggios creating an incredible tension of opposing dynamics. Finally, completing the EP is the digital bonus ‘Ghost Tree’ whose low slung groove and eery pads make the perfect weapon for the strangely unique occasions.

This 3-tracker from Spanish Affkt might quite simply be his best release to date. I have always admired his different and quirky productions and as the followers will know we have released tracks with Affkt before.
This time me and Marc (aka Affkt) went deep into A&R'ing the release to make sure all tracks reached their full potential. Tracks have been added and removed from the release over time. The tracks have been re-arranged, adjusted, revisited over a period of 9 months time (yes thats how much time we spent carefully putting this release together and making sure it was perfect). I am really proud of what Marc acomplished with this release on Noir Music. All 3 tracks works really well in the clubs and they each have a very strong Affkt signature which I wont bother describing in detail by words but rather have you listen to these amazing “Squared” pieces.

Classically trained instrumentalist and Cocoon alum Malandra Jr. kicks off proceedings on a dynamic note with a pair of blissed-out tracks featuring blossoming synths, supple drums and whirring glitches. Citizen Kain follows suit with two energy-loaded numbers, the more dreamy and spaced out 'Crush', followed by the vocal-heavy 'Balance'. Next up is German producer Heerhorst who takes a turn for deep and pensive melodies with 'Centaurus', while 'Hydra' stands out with powerful synths and a rattling beat. Bold, intense synths are also at the core of Transcode’s 'String Theory' and 'Molecular Cloud', with the former offering a massive breakdown fit for peak time, and the latter a more resolute atmosphere overall. In the release’s final quarter, we find Olivier Giacomotto with two tribal-tinged constructions, the slow burner 'Moonshine', and its more unhinged counterpart, 'Bonobo'. Made in Paris rounds off the Trip with a couple of stirring slices brimful of radiating synths and spacious breakdowns.

All in all, a steady trickle of dancefloor-primed pieces setting off sparks of all the different types of energy needed to sustain a coalescent set.

Following Raniero’s debut on Intec, this is his debut solo EP and it also features a remix by Darse whose notable releases include contributions to SK Recordings and Tale Of Us label Afterlife.

“Eltern” opens the release with dramatic synths and heavy percussion before the orchestral chords of “Josefinum” fuse with pulses of acid. Things then get atmospheric with the ethereal intro track “Augusta”, which Darse toughens up with his own percussion to create a slick, shadowy mood.
