“Falling Away From” is the debut single for Stingray. It narrates an episode of summer love by focusing on the novelty that hooks us in so quickly as well as the inevitable conclusion that culminates. Sometimes the the passion of new romance fades, and a seed of doubt enters our mind creating an onset of confliction. We have a habbit of writing the relationship off as impossible to continue past the season, and let negativity absorb all the joy and fun of a the time diminish instead of enjoying what we have. The purpose of this song is not meant to tell an arrogant tale, but more of an admission of guilt.

Rory "StingRay" McRae is a 20 year old singer-songwriter from Plymouth MA. Stingray first picked up the bass guitar to keep up with his older brother who had been playing guitar for about a year at the time. Eventually the two brothers started their first band with high school friends. The band was eventually be named Exalted Existence, and found a punk rock sound that tried to find its way in a hardcore dominated Wareham scene.  After Exalted Existence dissolved, the two brothers turned to the coffee house scene and scrapped together a new alt-folk project called Volatile Memories with songwriter Tyler Sanford. After the addition of singer Steven Simpson the four piece recorded there debut EP "Eudaimonia." After the completion of the EP, StingRay left the band to study Electrical Engineering at Umass Lowell, and musical activity seemed to dry up for him. His time in college forced him to begin writing complete works by himself for the first time in his life. Eventually, StingRay became enamored with song-writing. The songs are currently being recorded for under Brad Feeney Production. The first single will be released July 5, 2016.
