Bought the hoodie bought the cadence bought the posture bought the anger in bulk now you’re shocked it doesn’t fit you in person I see you mouthing every bar like it’s yours like you earned it like pain’s a souvenir you picked up at the merch stand 

Everybody wanna sound like me talk like me walk mad like me act damaged like me even you sitting there pretending this is ironic imitation nah it’s karaoke with trauma cosplay I bled for this voice 

You rented it for two hours and a bathroom mirror now I’m trapped in a musical about myself written by committees and notes and soft hands asking me to sand down the teeth asking me to behave asking me to be grateful while you copy the snarl and sell it back to me wrapped in jazz hands and spotlights so yeah I’m bitter yeah I’m louder yeah I’m stepping on the fourth wall and the orchestra pit and your expectations too because I’m the real mess the rest is dress-up 

I'm the bruise you imitate I’m the mood you can’t sit with I’m the reason this thing closes before it opens so enjoy the preview take notes steal the rhythm on your way out and tell yourself you saw the legend while he burned the whole thing down on purpose

You wanted a legend embalmed I showed up alive and contagious I’ll cough on the script spit on the notes ad-lib the ending every night different I’ll make the critics write essays just to say “what the hell was that” 

I’ll break the fourth wall then sell tickets to the rubble. I’ll haunt this theater like a lawsuit with a beat. You wanted closure you got chaos you wanted growth you got teeth you wanted me grateful I showed you honest so dim the lights cut the band roll the curtain early I’m still talking I’m still here this isn’t sabotage it’s a diagnosis and if this show dies tonight good it means I finally told the truth without choreography
