Rafa Pineda

La présence constante de Rafa Pineda sur la scène techno de Montréal, au cours des dernières années l'a aidé à s'établir comme un DJ et producteur remarquable sur les pistes de danse underground entre le Mexique et le Canada.

Cofondateur du collectif 8day et travaillant sur Grrreat Recordings, Rafa a joué aux côtés de nombreux artistes internationaux ces dernières années. Très engagé dans la scène locale, jouant fréquemment dans des salles comme Le Salon Daome, Newspeak, La SAT, Stereo Night Club, et des festivals comme Eclipse Canada, Piknic Électronik, Radiance Mexico, Illusion, Totem, La Tierra Prometida Mexico, Timeless & Earthdance pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns.

Né au Mexique et maintenant établi à Montréal, Rafa élargit son profil avec son nouveau projet live, Paradigme, un projet en collaboration avec son ami
 Maudite Machine.

2018 est définitivement une année où les projets, les concerts et les sorties de Rafa Pineda vont se développer. Essayant toujours de respecter et de suivre son propre style, il est définitivement un artiste à suivre de près.

Rafa Pineda's constant presence on the Montreal techno scene over the past few years has helped him establish himself as an outstanding DJ and producer on underground dance floors between Mexico and Canada.

Co-founder of the 8day collective and working on Grrreat Recordings, Rafa has played alongside many international artists in recent years. Very involved in the local scene, playing frequently in venues such as Le Salon Daome, Newspeak, La SAT, Stereo Night Club, and festivals such as Eclipse Canada, Piknic Électronik, Radiance Mexico, Illusion, Totem, La Tierra Prometida Mexico, Timeless & Earthdance to name a few.

Born in Mexico and now based in Montreal, Rafa is expanding his profile with his new live project, Paradigme, a project in collaboration with his good friend Maudite Machine.

2018 is definitely a year where Rafa Pineda's projects, concerts and releases will grow. Always trying to respect and follow his own style, he is definitely an artist to watch.

Em 2022 atuou na curadoria e co-produção de sua primeira festa com line up exclusivamente feminino, a Underground Crossover. Aficionada por pesquisa musical, seus sets são sempre muito intensos, proporcionando ao público uma verdadeira imersão nas frequências do techno. Suas principais referências musicais e artísticas são femininas, destacando-se: ANNA, Adiel, Blancah, Eli Iwasa, Ellen Allien, Lauren Mia e Mila Journée. Agora no comando da BUNKER49, pretende trazer a sua visão de como uma noite de techno precisa ser para criar experiências inesquecíveis para seus frequentadores.

Known for inhabiting the front of the city's underground parties, she made her debut as a DJ in 2019, on an occasion where she shared the DJ booth with Paulo Foltz and Elísio Romero. In 2022, she participated in the curation and co-production of her first party with an exclusively female lineup, the Underground Crossover. A music research enthusiast, her sets are always very intense, providing the audience with a true immersion in the frequencies of techno. Her main musical and artistic references are female, with notable names such as ANNA, Adiel, Blancah, Eli Iwasa, Ellen Allien, Lauren Mia, and Mila Journée. Kicking things off is Italian talent Luca Gaeta delivering a euphoric spaced out melodic symphony combined with a thunderous beat called About A New Life. Great friend of the family Noraj Cue makes his debut on Pursuit and this one is definitely one for the books. Don’t let the tongue in the cheek title of Opdringerig Hooi fool you, this is absolutely after party mayhem. New kid on the block Federico Naccari & Dubstone present Unmixed Galaxy, a space opera in the making. Delicious synth melodies combined with a filthy techno stomping groove. Familiar faces and absolute friends of the family is the duo Duss, who make their return with Babel, an absolutely exquisite composition demonstrating their impressive skills in the studio. What a talent. One of the newer entries on Pursuit is Berlanga who delivers an absolute monster called Time Has Changed. While the synth lines keep evolving a dark brooding voice brings us in darker environments.
And last is Murahni with his amazing Don't Talk To Me In The Morning track. 

All tracks have been road tested by Rob Hes and all carry the seal of approval of Pursuit. This is Wild Cards.

Matt Edwards and multifaceted artist Patrick Mason team up as SRVD with debut release entitled ‘ELEVATE’ dropping on Rekids this August. 

Whether as Radio Slave or his various other monikers, Matt Edwards is one of electronic music’s most consistent and innovative artists. Ever since his early reinterpretations of Kylie Minogue and New Order, Edwards has continually commanded respect as a producer and in-demand remixer, whilst as a label owner his Rekids imprint is undoubtedly one of house and techno’s most influential platforms. 

Meanwhile, Patrick Mason continues to conquer the fashion world; a devout club kid and gifted creative turning heads as an outstanding art director, illustrator and model, whose extensive artistic talents include a unique and compelling voice destined for dancefloors. 

SRVD’s story begins when the pair met in Panorama Bar, which soon led to Edwards and Mason hanging out at the studio and later evolved into improvised performances in Berlin’s club scene and beyond. ‘ELEVATE’ perfectly captures the raw spirit and vibe of their live show, with whispering vocals ushering in precision kicks and piercing stabs until Mason’s mesmerising voice comes fully into play. 

An homage to the New York vogue scene and a huge hit at Panorama Bar - where the pair have set the house on fire with three unannounced shows so far this year - ‘NASTY’ is a syncopated, bass-driven monster of a cut complete with infectious claps and metallic effects.
