Andrea Zapata is a producer and DJ based in Lima, Perú. She develops in the deep and hypnotic techno genres as well as experimental and their subgenres. 

She always offers an unpredictable ride with a fairly linear rhythm with quirky sounds that create a hypnotic atmosphere along with very subtle changes that manage to bring the listener into a deep journey. She finds inspiration in her feelings and every time she leaves her daily life and manages to have contact with nature.  

Andrea has released an EP ‘Intuitium’ for KVLTÖ Records and has been part of various artists releases in records such as Lindeluft, Orbitando, Indefinite Pitch, Accent Records, Aurora Mistica, and Dorian.

Cadenza EKOES 002 - Holchin

CVRDWELL visited AETHER Club at the end of February this year as a guest of the TAEC party series. This set was recorded during that event. The Budapest-born artist began DJing at 13 and has been a fixture in the city's electronic music scene for over two decades. A trained sound designer and producer, he has released music on labels like Secession, BCCO, Illegal Alien, Warok, Diffuse Reality, and Postdynamic.  His sound blends fast-paced, groovy, analog-driven techno with melancholic undertones and futuristic sound design. In recent years, he has gained recognition for his hardware-only, improvised modular live sets, including a duo project with modular expert BIZMUTH.  He also runs the Budapest-based label Nonverbal Language, releasing his work alongside remixes from artists such as Temudo, Eric Fetcher, Alarico, Peder Mannerfelt, Franz Jager, and Measure Divide on both vinyl and digital formats.

The 76th vurt podcast features a 113-minute live set from Artefakt, the live techno duo from the Netherlands. 
This set by Artefakt was recorded live at Spread in Tokyo, on the 2nd of June 2023. This night was part of the Field Records ‘Floating World’ label tour celebrating their 15 year anniversary. The Tokyo events were co-organised by the Liminal Dreams collective.

세계적으로 잘 알려진 네덜란드의 라이브 테크노 듀오 Artefakt는 닉 라피엔(Nick Lapien)과 로빈 쿡(Robin Koek)의 최면적이고 주술적인 음악에 대한 공통된 애정을 기반으로 시작되었다. 듀오는 폭넓은 프레임-워크(frame-work)를 통해 음악이 연주되는 동안 소리의 질감과 톤을 미세하게 변화시켜 인간의 뇌가 몰입하고 호흡할 수 있는 최적의 분위기를 조성한다. 최근에는 즉흥적인 방식을 기반으로 정교하게 큐레이팅된 콜라보레이션 시리즈 De Stijl를 선보이며 창작의 경계를 확장하고 있다. At the root of Nick Lapien and Robin Koek’s Artefakt project is a shared love for melancholic, hypnotic voodoo music. Their sound is pensive with deep, rich textures; long track lengths—often six-minutes-plus—give the duo an expansive framework in which to make small changes of texture and tone, creating cerebral, balanced atmospheres that absorb and engage. “Sometimes we just take a short element, like the sound of a falling drop of water, and from this recording we extract the rhythm and use it as a starting point,” they say. “It’s a very organic way of creating new material.” 
After a period of self-reflection, the Dutch duo returned in 2019 to launch a label with a new EP. De Stijl serves as a platform for their musical explorations and those of their close friends. The imprint’s inaugural EP,  Far and Wide, a lesson in dancefloor-ready techno that prioritises mood and melancholy, preceded Monsoon, Artefakt’s second album, this time on Svreca’s mighty Semantica Records. Across eight tracks, the duo evidenced an intrinsic understanding of rhythmic structures, confirming their status as one of the most singular and emotionally evocative acts in contemporary techno. 
As a live act, Lapien and Koek have performed all across Europe, North America, and Asia, their analog-heavy set a must-see for fans of melodic and deeply emotive techno. Drawing on their shared love for collecting records, they also perform as DJs, crafting long, hypnotic narratives laced with exclusive material and records from the expensive collections, old and new. 
Having first crosses paths at university, Lapien and Koek began making music together in 2012. Lapien, whose infectious, swinging house cuts have featured on Rekids, Soul People Music, and DVS1’s Mistress, was just beginning his career as a solo artist; while Koek, who designs his own artistic systems and teaches at dBs Music Berlin, had just earned a Master of Arts from Utrecht's School of Arts, specializing in Sound Design and Composition. After releasing two EPs on the legendary Dutch imprint Delsin Records, in 2017 Koek and Lapien presented their debut album, Kinship, cementing their nuanced, atmospheric style while showcasing its breadth. It was the first big step in their ongoing pursuit to adopt techno as an art-form rather than a genre.

This month we have Flux Magnetic,deep in the game
Flux magnetic is the alias of Chris Foti, a techno DJ who has been an integral member of the local
rave and club scene since the early 2000&#39;s. While originally only a follower of the scene, Chris quietly
started collecting music and practicing his DJ sets with some limited equipment at home.
Whilst always remaining dynamic and continuously encapsulating new triggers, he remains firmly
rooted in techno. His sound is smoky and atmospheric and usually falls under the ambient techno
subcategory. Though he often likes to mix in the reverberated sounds of dub techno and even some
minimal influences.
He has shared the booth with Tobias, Amotik, Rene Wise, Deepbass, DJ Maria, Tommy 47, Alex
Tomb and with some of the locals finest.

Clarence Rise is a French deep techno producer and DJ, whose sometimes dark but always introspective music draws on his deep connection with nature and the twists and turns of the psyche. His compositions combine complex rhythmics with organic sound design, diving listeners in hypnotic, immersive soundscapes. He creates textured, crackling, sometimes syncopated techno, while also exploring the depths of Deep DnB and Tribal sounds. His work is a constant quest for raw emotion and subtle intensity, offering experiences both mysterious and captivating, shaped to resonate as much in clubs as in the intimacy of personal listening.
