Slovenian label Cogo are about to drop their highly anticipated sophomore release. Welcomed to the roster on the new vinyl package titled VA.01 are Ukranian Stanislav Tolkachev, Inigo Kennedy, Samuli Kemppi, and label co-owner Tonske returning.

Inigo Kennedy is one of the UK’s most revered techno artists having crafted an outstanding sound as far back as 1996. His seminal releases on the likes of Tim Taylor’s Missile and Kr!z’s Token alongside a multitude on his own Asymmetric imprint, cement his new music as essential listening.

For this DT:Premiere we selected the Inigo Kennedy track titled “Lucid” that focuses on a sci-fi atmosphere. Bleeping, modular tones and additional layers create a hypnotic groove that captivates with perfect blend of tension and analogue knob-twiddling.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Jakob Wojenko, an electronic music producer & DJ from Poland, based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
 
Jakob most often produces techno, hardtechno and schranz. His productions and mixes are mainly inspired by the old-school techno/electro/house, hardtechno and schranz sound from the late 90's/early 2000's. He is also one of the co-creators and resident DJ's of the Huldra Collective in Gothenburg.

This mix is a showcase of his style and the music he likes to play when he's DJing. Mostly old-school techno/tribal/hardtechno mixed with some current favourites! Enjoy!

In Covid times, he was involved in a local community self-help project called Pop Up Radio, which thrived on keeping the local club scene alive by hosting online events for local artists. When digging for new music, he takes pleasure in tracking freaks of na- ture, rarae aves, swan songs and albino dolphins. While full of twists and turns, his selection bears a strong reference to techno being present in his mixes as a landmark. He feels odd in clean clubs.

@keepsakes, the alias of British-New Zealand producer and DJ James Barrett, has been a strong and distinctive voice in techno since rising to fame through his Stygian Concrete Works and Weapons Grade Manic EPs back in 2014. Since then he has showcased his powerful and menacing, yet often cheeky and playful, productions on influential labels including South London Analogue Material, Perc Trax, MORD, Earwiggle and KAOS.

Furthermore, he founded the Haven club night alongside Jaded Nineties Raver in Tāmaki Maraukau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand) in 2015 - aiming to introduce clubbers to the experimental and harder side of techno in a city completely devoid of this music. 
In 2018 Haven also expanded into a vinyl-focused record label - going on to release many leading international artists including VTSS, Tommy Holohan, New Frames, Peder Mannerfelt, Ayarcana, Ansome, and Ryan James Ford, as well as becoming the main home for Barrett’s own productions.

Now located in Ōtautahi, Aotearoa (Christchurch, New Zealand) - following several years in Berlin hitting the European club circuit - he is focused on bringing his tough and eclectic sound to dance floors worldwide, with regular appearances at international techno institutions providing a platform for his formidable DJ sets.

Silent G is a Berlin-based DJ and founder of the party and podcast series ZEMENT. Having his musical roots in Punk Rock, his sound is fast and rough, yet tongue-in-cheek. In his club sets and mixes he focuses mainly on Hardgroove and Techno shaped by the early2000s. 

But he also feels comfortable in more break-heavy spheres such as Drum & Bass and Jungle. Whether with his own ZEMENT series or for other promoters, Silent G has played at some of Berlin’s most renowned night clubs such as : about blank, Mensch Meier, OXI or Re:mise and has also had his first gigs outside of Germany in Mongolia and Austria.

DJ and event/music promoter from Gozo, Malta driven by rhythm and groove 🥁

STK quickly made a name for himself following his introduction to the scene in December 2022,featuring early on in his career for the likes of waX, Glitch Club Series, Glitch Festival, and also being included in Dalma Festival's 1st Edition in 2023. In 2024 STK continues making his mark on the scene, and is looking forward to feature for Indigo MT and Vault Sessions NL in Malta, and once again for Glitch Festival.

STK has also started his own collective - Liminoid (MT) - wherein he aims to promote aspects of the scene which inspire him most, namely a deep-rooted sense of community, and appreciation towards the sound and the people (dancers, DJs, and others alike).

His style encapsulates fast-paced grooves, hypnotic melodies, and elements of House and RnB blended with old school Hardgroove, exhibiting his 90s influenced exposure.
